Barr surfaces on CNN with Wolfie!
Edited on Mon Jan-16-06 07:39 PM by DeepModem Mom
Wolf says was technical glitch, or would have introduced Gore. Barr says conservatives and liberals coming together to say that Constitutional principles have been violated. Says we need oversight, and glad Specter will be having hearings. Says Gore, and many conservatives, are on right track.

Barr says Constitution is clear, law is very specific. President can't rule by "seat of his pants," even with a new crisis.

Barr is emphasizing civil liberties. Says when Presidents overstep their bounds, they must be held accountable. Wolf asks if this rises to Monica/impeachment level (which Barr had part in). Barr says must have hearings to find out.

5. If someone told me I would be commending Barr 7 years ago
I would have laughed in their face--

*Darling* of the freepers etc etc...and yet there sit the freeps still crowing the virtues of their man W.

The REAL truth of what bushit has done to this country must be REALLY REALLY BAD for Barr to be rejecting the adulation of his freepers and repuke cohorts and choosing the moral high ground.

I think this Barr on board thing has scared me worse than anything to date.

7. I never would have thought that I would say this but, I
think pretty highly of Bob Barr, now.

He knows the Constitution inside and out and he's been willing to stand up to the thugs on the Right.

11. Oddly enough he spent many years living in Iran
I don't remember all the ins and outs of the deal...but Barr's father was government (I think CIA but my memory is hazy--maybe it was military)

I know that Barr lived in Iran for a few years.

Barr was also ranting and carrying on against "carnivore" when it was still thought of as conspiracy bullshit.

15. Barr had a personal
issue with Clinton because when Clinton elected, Barr was removed from some post - or that is what I understand from Repug relatives here in Georgia.

That's why Barr started the bandwagon to impeach Clinton.

Now he can afford to be honorable. May he be one of the first of many.

Did it rise to the level of the Clinton/Lewinsky impeachment level?
:wtf:

No Wolfie. Nothing could quite rise to that level. Fucking idiot. Go back to the 700 Club. You fit in better there.

21. Give Wolfie a break.
He tried to say "Should Bush be Impeached" in his dressing room, but the words wouldn't come out of his mouth. Best he could do was "Clinton/Lewinski impeachment."

It's an illness brought about by repeated brainwashings. Sad, really.

24. Barr is unusual
He is right-wing as all-get-out on most things. But he has a very pronounced libertarian streak. And sees himself as non-partisan crime-fighter. He was U.S. Atty, and successfully prosecuted fellow GOPer, Rep. Pat Swindall, for perjury. I guess he had to leave when Clinton took office, but he would have expected that right? Then he was in Congress for awhile, but got gerrymandered and ran in a district with more establishment Republican John Linder and lost. THEN, he took a job with the ACLU. He will keep you guessing.

31. So..Wolf asked if it was as bad as a blowjob?
What an assinine, snarky comment. IT'S A DAMN LOT WORSE than a friggin blowjob. His tactic of framing it as if it's something excusable and petty (like a blowjob IS) is pretty low and lame.

But I'd expect no less from that mangy little creep (Wolf).
