Did Al Gore speak with the "blessing" of the DNC/Democratic Party today?
Or was he speaking for himself? Have we heard ANY Democratic response to this yet? The RNC was quick with a response. Where are the Dems on this? Don't they have President Gore's back?:grr:

WTF are they waiting for?

1. Be patient
It'll take the DNC and the DLC a little white to get the circular firing squad together.

:wtf:

2. I highly doubt it.
Considering what we've seen and heard from them in the past.

4. Incognito, you can rest assured that the DNC is in the thick
of this.

Gore's speech will be followed this week by around ONE HUNDRED others, from Dems across the country, including the Dem party chair's speech, which is to be delivered in Ney territory in Ohio.

6. You have some insider information?
100 speeches? From 100 different people? In 100 different locations?

18. Thank you.
I await these speeches with list-making materials at hand. I want a list of just who stands up for the Constitution.

11. Whew...that's good to hear.
I read about all the speeches to be delivered starting Wednesday? was it? Unfortunately, I think the media will ignore them all. The only people who will hear the speeches are those who attend them.:( They will be preaching to the choir. Are any of them scheduled to be on C-SPAN? Do you know?

15. I don't know, but keep in mind that we originally thought that
Gore's speech would be ignored, right? If there are enough speeches going on, the media might pick up on it.

7. Interestingly, Sen. Diane Feinstein was in the audience
Edited on Mon Jan-16-06 04:31 PM by LiberalEsto
and Gore acknowledged her presence.

Extremely interesting, in light of the fact that she opposes an Alito filibuster.

Gore said during the speech that he opposes the Alito nomination.

9. LOL, I think the RNC response was written before Gore spoke!
On the other hand, the DNC response make take some time as it takes a long time to read and digest ALL the material covered by Gore.

16. they would've had text of the speech in advance
just as we did, here:

http://rawstory.com/news/2005/Text_of_Gore_speech_0116.html

so it's not real surprising the RW noise machine would be all geared up to make their usual bullshit attacks on Gore.

22. I understand that, but the RNC response was, well, weak....
They ain't got nothing, and they know it. Much to their chagrin, Al Gore just 'Framed' the national debate, and I say "Let the games begin". :)

12. As a politician with some clout, he was already preceded by Dean
but I too wondered immediately - when do all the other big ones chime in.

Because they must.

Oppose or be irrelevant.

speeches this week will allude to Gore's speech? OMG. That possibility just occurred to me!

26. Ask Will Pitt -- he seemed to have some inside info ...
and was one of the DUers who most promoted this upcoming speech. I assume he knew of its contents before hand and could help you dissect the politics within the party.

Can you verify whether or not the Democratic Party OK'd the speech? Do they have Gore's back?
