Why is it protocol that the POTUS does not carry cash

and the gratuity is generally included and automatic.

i worked as a waiter in a couple of exclusive private clubs where that was how it was done. many of them never carried cash, although a lot of them would also tip you cash above and beyond the automatic amount.

9. I was under the assumption

that it was so if attacked they couldn't say they were trying to rob him. If he has no cash then the attack must be for another reason. Of course, by the same token, every one knows what a miserable failure he is and I'm sure the cash idea wouldn't even cross an assailants mind.
