Dear Congress: (It's OUR money, and here's what we want)

For DECADES now you people seem to be unaware of what we want. We hear you all the time on tv, telling this commentator and that what "the people want", but we always end up doing a spit-take when your words come rolling out of your piehole.

Every election cycle you tell us what you think we want to hear, and in a never-ending loop of "lesser or two evils" elections, you somehow make it to (or back to) congress.

Our electoral "voice" must be little more than a pesky earworm that you soon wash right out of your head, because your legislation bears little resemblance to what we pay you do enact for us.

Or perhaps you took a wrong turn at Pennsylvania, and ended up somehow in Bizarro Congress, because ALL of your legislation is the OPPOSITE of what we need and want you to do.

We don't begrudge you a decent lifestyle, and we don't want your wife & kids to have to wear Goodwill clothes & used shoes, but we ALSO don't want you to take our money, goodwill and votes to get elected, and throw our best interests into the incinerator along with the empty promises you make to us.

A country's budget is very much like a family budget, and we all know how highly you praise family issues.

There are certain things that just come first.

Things like

Life, Liberty, Pursuit of happiness..

In order to have those things, first and foremost, we just have to have priorities...and have them ordered.

We ALL need health care (afordable for the least of us, and attainable by ALL of us)
We all need decent housing, affordable housing
We all need to eat, and we'd prefer a minimum of heavy metals, poisons & rat feces, if that's ok with you
We all need clean water (and NOT running water THROUGH our homes)
We all need to be able to earn a living in order to provide these things
We all need to know that our children have true access to the best education possible
We all need to know that when we vote, the person we elected actually gets to have the job
We need to know that media is free to report the truth, and not just read talking points from the leaderissimo

Your legislation seems to undercut ALL of the above, and yet you seem blinded to that fact.. (does YOUR health policy include vision care?)...or is it from the smoke from all those burning flags?

Our incomes, meager as they are these days, provide the money that you people use to RUN this place, and we are just asking that you start putting OUR interests first.


We need for you to stop acting like an abusive spouse.. you know the type.. The person who cashes the paycheck, blows it all on parties for the pals, then comes home to tell the family they need to "tighten their belts" and learn to like ketchup sandwiches, because the family can't "afford" to pay rent, buy shoes, pay tuition, buy gasoline, pay the electric bill, have a phone, buy groceries, etc...and when the family complains, they get sent to their rooms after a severe tongue-lashing and perhaps a beating or two... You know..THAT guy !.. the one you see in the mirror.

Your "family" is pissed off and tired of getting crumbs, while you and your fat-cat pals grab all the good stuff.


Once our Day-to-Day problems are solved, we promise..... you can buy war toys with what's left over..
