Pakistan angrily reacts to Rice's comments

By MUNIR AHMAD, Associated Press Wrier

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - Pakistan's Foreign Ministry responded angrily to a call by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice for democratic elections next year, saying it doesn't need "outside" advice.

The comments came in a statement late Wednesday, a day after Rice met with President Gen. Pervez Musharraf in Pakistan's capital.

En route to Islamabad, Rice told reporters "there has to be, the world expects there to be, democratic, free and fair elections in Pakistan in 2007."

Snip...

"On the democratic processes in Pakistan, we do not require advice from outside," the statement said, adding that Pakistan's leadership is committed to having "free and fair elections."

casually selects JUST the right pair of shoes for her next global cameo.

Good for the Pakistani Foreign Ministry to announce: "On the democratic processes in Pakistan, we do not require advice from outside," adding that Pakistan's leadership is committed to having "free and fair elections."

The woman needs to re-evaluate her own self-importance.

When the evil witch in the fairy tale asks the mirror, "Who's the fairest of them all" the question is more or less rhetorical. Even a 4-year old knows the witch is bad news.

If anything, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry showed remarkable restraint in its phrasing.

8. Apparently Pakistan's Foreign Ministry did not read
the PNAC manifesto or it would have understood where Condi is coming from. Tsk, Tsk. :sarcasm:
