Sam Seder is discussing how redistricting can backfire on the GOP
Several blue states will take control of governorships and state legislatures this fall. Illinois, New Jersey and some other state I didnt catch. These BLUE states can then redraw the districts in their states to give the Dems a huge advantage in the House for 2008.

I live in suburban Red Dupage county in IL. Imagine if the district maps got redrawn so parts of my district are expanding into blue Chicago? Can you imagine if Dennis Hastert is redistricted out of his seat??

This also demonstrates the importance of Howard Deans 50 state strategy. By keeping DNC money in the states and not being sent to Washington, we are getting more Democratic Governors and state Legislatures.

3. Love Sam
Howard Dean has said that we are going to redistrict.

We need to push the states to do this tho.

Now he's talking about David Sirota ;)

Did you catch who the guest was? I didn't.

One way or another, Howard Dean will save this country.

6. YUP. Your district may very well be one that is redrawn. MINE too. I'm in
the 11th district and Jerry, useless, Weller is my Rep. I would LOVE it if they redrew my district and turned it BLUE. I heard from Roll Call or The Hill on WJ the other morning that the Dems have BIG plans for Illinois and other states as far as redistricting goes. I hope it blows up in the repuke's faces.

9. That is not possible in NJ (with link)
Edited on Thu Jun-29-06 05:30 PM by Jersey Devil
The NJ constitution provides that redistricting is to be done only following the census. You'd have to amend the constitution to do otherwise.
