People-Powered Howard Is Strong!! Time to Par-ty!! Dem Reunion Time!
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

From Governor Howard Dean, M.D. --

I have results and big announcement for you today.

I wanted you to be the first to get the results of the fundraising drive. Over the last two weeks, over 11,000 people stood up to be counted by donating to support the 50-state strategy. The average donation was about $48 and you raised over $500,000 in less than two weeks.

But here's the most important statistic of this fundraising drive: of the more than 11,000 people donating to the Democratic Party in the last 2 weeks, 67% of them did so for the FIRST TIME.

We're putting people back in control of the political process. Your voice has been heard loud and clear: we need a 50-state strategy to fight everywhere, and with your leadership in your own community we will.

Which brings me to the big announcement. On July 29th we will kick off the last 100 days until the election with the first annual Democratic Reunion.

The Democratic Reunion will be a series of events across the country, in every single state, that will bring people back into the political process and remind everyone who wants change that we're all in this fight together for the last 100 days.

Plan your own Democratic Reunion event now using our web site. It's easy, fun and you'll be provided with the materials you need to be successful. If you've never done anything like this before, now is the time to start. Plan your event now:

2. We gave the fresh-faced kids $100 and some bottles of water.
It was an incredibly hot day, and they worked so hard,
trying to master their script.

They were adorable!

4. Yup. Sweaty kids always get me too --
I had a kid from 'the city' who came out to the burbs to sell magazines. I *never* buy stuff from people at the door, especially not magazine subscriptions that you may never get. He was charming, but I was firm. As he was standing there, he was mobbed by mosquitoes and asked if he could get some mosquito lotion. Sure. He left 20-minutes later with a $120 order for magazines. :D :eyes: :D

I thought it a bit much that he returned the next day with his friend to see if I would order more from his friend. ;-)

3. Good for Dean. The first politician I ever saw in person
and was truly inspired. Finally someone understood that some of us couldn't send hundred's of dollars but wanted to be involved. The sad part was it took me 50 years to do it, but he was great and got a lot of people like me into politics. Thank you Gov Dean

5. I've organized a training for my county for July 29th
I want to get people motivated about doing whatever it is that they can. I think Howard has done a great thing for the DNC by becoming chair and the effects will be long lasting.

7. Awesome! I think I will forward this to my local DFMC dude and
the local Dem Party Chair -- we are a small town and we are wall-to-wall events from here until the elections. The best reason to go forward with this would be to bring in people who've donated to the DNC, but never participated in the past. If they are drawn in by the DNC, then we have new feetsies to do some of the walking!
