3. It was a good show.
Al was great and Stewart too.
It's too bad that these interviews couldn't last the whole hour and Gore could get more time to speak. Same with Colbert. He never lets his guests get much opinion in. He is hilarious but occasionally I'd like to hear from the guests and what they have to say.

Joe (killed his clerk) Scarborough was ragging on Gore's movie. He had John Stossel on last night and man has Stossel gone over to the dark side. To his credit, Joe had some national cause guy on who tore Stossel to shreds. He cited facts, and naturally Stossel only had his mustache for evidence.
To think I used to think that guy had done some good things. Now that I think about it, I used to think that way about Geraldo Rivera. Maybe wearing a mustache for too long destroys brain cells or something??? :+

7. Nah. Stossel's always been a right-wing asshat.
He just thinks that it's hip to be a cynical shithead.

8. I agree with you
The shows are too short for in depth interviews.

9. Hey now...
Leave the mustaches out of it...

Of course, I don't have a HUGE bushy mustache...that might be it.

And I've got a goatee too, which may balance it out somewhat.

12. it just shows how much is lost with the sound-bite format
Not to single out Jon, of course, since it's pretty much standard for media interviews these days -- but it does show that there are guests like Gore, who could easily go for an entire hour without boring the audience. Like the "old-fashioned" type of public affairs show (which would not be kind to most of the celebrities who are around these days ... though Jon does usually get guests who have more depth to them!). I noticed that both Jon and David Letterman gave Gore extra time, and he certainly delivered!

14. "Only his mustache for evidence" -- LOL!
You know what's really funny? I remember checking out Stossel's last book "Give Me A Break" in the bookstore around the same time Al Franken's "Lies and the Lying Liars" was out. What was hilarious was that Stossel's book had no footnotes, no endnotes, no supporting evidence for his claims whatsoever. Al Franken's book, on the other hand, was copiously endnoted. Franken's a comedian -- Stossel is supposed to be the journalist. What's most telling to me is that the R/W audience doesn't need endnotes or footnotes -- as long as it smacks of truthiness! And that's what Stossel makes a living doing.
