What's the deal with arresting the Palestinian cabinet members? Looks to me like the are in the process trying to occupy Gaza.

1. I lay this mess directly at the feet of bush
in 2000 bush could have taken over where Clinton had left, but instead did just the opposite

Unless someone forces the parties back to the peace table quickly, not only will things deteroriate more, and it will spread with the whole region closer to all out war. High fuel costs will be the least of our problems

2. Exactly. The psycho IGNORED the I/P mess for 18 months saying
it was their problem and they need to work it out THEMSELVES, knowing damn good and well THAT would never happen. Clinton spent the better part of his administration trying to bring this fucking mess to an end and that Bastard laid waste to everything Clinton had worked toward. The place is imploding. He ignored the I/P mess and the "Bin Laden determined to strike U.S." memo and now look where we are.:grr: It's a damn mess.

3. not only Clinton, but ever U.S. president except the current one
The potential for a world war scares the crap out of me

Our invasion of Iraq sent a very strong message, that in order to protect yourself from an invasion from the U.S., you must have nuclear weapons.

7. Well, unfortunately the quickest way for a person to get...
...banned is to go into the I/P forum and start posting without realizing that the single-most-complex set of rules on DU apply only to that forum and that some infractions of those rules are considered very, very serious transgressions. After watching so much news about both sides getting stuffed in I/P, leaving the bulk of DU-ers clueless about discussion of this important topic, I'm glad to see that more threads are being created outside of I/P.

But those threads will eventually be moved into I/P where they will most certainly be locked because of the extremely-specific rules which cover discourse there. I disagree with the isolation of this information, which is extremely relevant to the United States and to Progressives. I also believe some of the opinions there are disturbingly unProgressive. Since I can't get DU to change the mechanism which it has put in place to move or delete such threads, the best I can hope for is to invite users who are participating in the above-mentioned pre-doomed threads to utilize the mechanism DU does allow for discussion of this topic.

Hope that clarifies things,

PB
