2 Major Rulings Are Expected on Court's Final Day
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Supreme Court is expected to rule today on whether President Bush overstepped his authority with military war-crimes trials for foreigners held at the U.S. prison camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

A ruling is also expected on Arizona's insanity defense law, in an appeal brought on behalf of a schizophrenic teenager who killed a police officer.

The two cases are all that lie between justices and a three-month vacation from the court.

Initially, the court had planned to adjourn for the summer on Monday, but the justices had not finished work on five cases.

On Wednesday they ruled in a Texas redistricting case and cases involving the rights of inmates and foreign suspects.

At the end of Wednesday's session, Chief Justice John Roberts announced that the high court would finish its work on Thursday.

1. Well nothing the Supreme Court has done so far this term gives us
any hope for a democracy to remain after they are through. I'm betting they rule for giving more and more authority to Chucklenuts and his secret prisons/no trials and they will fry an insane teenager. They will head home for the summer and maybe they just won't bother to show back up in October - they have turned over the reins of the government to Chimpy and their, like Congress', services are no longer needed.

2. Maybe that is why Bush is so pissed ??
Maybe he knows already how the Court is going to rule on Guantanamo? Against he and Rumsfeld? And that is why he was so angry yesterday? Like a small child, he throws tantrums when he does not get his way. He does not have an adult mind.
