Bush promotes war, candidate in Missouri

CLAYTON, Mo. - President Bush accused Democrats of waving "the white flag of surrender" with proposals that would bring the troops home from Iraq and insisted that he will keep combat forces fighting as long as they are needed to achieve victory.

Snip...

"Make no mistake about it, there's a group in the opposition party who are willing to retreat before the mission is done," Bush said. "They're willing to wave the white flag of surrender. And if they succeed, the United States will be worse off and the world will be worse off."

Last week, the Senate overwhelmingly rejected a resolution by Sens. John Kerry, D-Mass., and Russ Feingold, D-Wis., that would have pulled all U.S. troops out of Iraq over the next year. Only 13 senators supported it, while 39 supported a more moderate measure that would have urged the administration to start withdrawing troops by year's end.

Snip...

"We're winning," Bush said. "And the world is going to be better off because of your courageous service, and I thank you for it."

1. Spoken like a true badass military deserter
bush and his fellow "conservatives" have a strategy. More Americans must be slaughtered tomorrow in Iraq so that those who were slaughtered in Iraq yesterday weren't slaughtered in vain. Great strategy; eat it up Missouri.

who never did an honest day of work in his life

Bush sure sounds like a demagogue.

He is going as low as a politician can go.

3. Missourians: war not worth it; 60% withdraw some or all troops

Snip...

Talent-McCaskill race

In Missouri, for example, Sen. Jim Talent, R-Mo., has not tried to soft-pedal his support for the war and is not on the defensive like Shays, even though he is in a tight race against state Auditor Claire McCaskill.

St. Louis political science professor Ken Warren noted that Missouri "tends to be more conservative on family values and flag-waving issues," so Talent may have more leeway on the war than candidates in other states.

Still, a recent Post-Dispatch poll found that Missourians' views of the war mirror those of the nation. A majority said going to war in Iraq was not worth it, while 60 percent said the United States should begin withdrawing some or all troops.

7. His daddy used that one a lot, & stay the course too.
His daddy was famous for mangling our language and drifting off subject when not on script and for having neat little bumper sticker slogans, "read my lips, no new taxes", and the like, but nobody does it like jr.
