Has The NY Times Has Been Scammed?

After seeing that all of the info about SWIFT was out in the open for years, I'm beginning to think that this was a setup by the Bushes to poop on the Times and help themselves. They picked something to "leak" that wasn't actually a secret, so they themselves wouldn't be in doo-doo if they got caught.

The other thing that leads me to this belief is that all of the fringe-right media instantly pounced on the Times alone, whereas, in reality, three other papers broke the story simultaneously. I suspect that the talking points had all gone out prior to the actual publication, and they were only expecting the Times to go with it - the others were a surprise.

Anybody else think this makes sense? Or am I on crack?

2. Here was the clincher for me...

Norah O'Donnell, one of the ultimate BushCo shills, basically agrees with you re: the simultaneous publications, but only the Times getting called on it, and the appearance that BushCo is deliberately stirring up shit just to help whip up his base.

When Norah doesn't back Bush, you KNOW something funny is going on.

The Times played a major role in:
Promoting "Whitewater"
Smearing the Clintons
Smearing Al Gore
Promoting DimSon's residence in the White House.
Promoting the Iraq war.

The Bushites put the horse's head in the Times' bed for 'political' reasons and the Times has few bed-springs left.

Everything in the Establishment has crashed below the basement level.

5. I think the country is on a roll regarding spying by the WH/PNAC. We

want to know the depth and breadth of this database amd the extent laws have been broken.

I think there is some bad stuff going on between the NYT-WH-Miller betrayals. There are three or more betrayals involved in that one. I think the the relationship is lethal.

I think the NYT is running scared about the Miller cooperation with Cheney.

Layered on top of this is political capital. They, the WH, must hang on to and energize their lemmings who LOVE to hear about the liberal press.

So, as we know, they take a negative and figure out as many positives as they can - and how to make some money out of it - donations.

(Something tells me that if we ever get to the court room with either the SOTU lies or the forgeries or the leaks or an impeachment, the NYT isn't going to look good. Perhaps there is something going on with them that has much to do with making things right - or they examined the depth of their origins and decided to change course - whatever it is, we will have to wait for a credibile story written by someone inside the NYT).

Right now - THE NYT IS BEING USED ... BIG TIME!
