ROFL. Bill Nelson stomping Katherine Harris 61%-26%
Total domination.

I've never seen a slaughter like this. Harris is getting exactly what she deserved.

11. thanks I just looked this up
May 4th was the filing deadline for Florida
and August 31st is the primary in Florida

Can anyone help us folks from outside Florida understand why Katherine Harris is the
Republican candidate when she has no base. Doesn't Jeb have a greater influence
in helping select the Republican candidate for Senator. Please help us understand.

25. I have not been able to figure this one out either

The GOP money people have to be either wanting to hold back for the Governor's race and get enough of what they want from Nelson to do this or internal polling shows other candidates doing not much better than Harris is doing.

26. Yes, they are holding back because other than being in the wrong
number column, Nelson is so dem lite that he actually benefits their side more. I think the fight will be against Smith or Davis, both very strong and electrifying candidates.

30. Bill Nelson broke my heart. Two years ago before the 2004 election
Edited on Thu Jun-29-06 08:07 PM by tinfoilinfor2005
I went to Ft. Lauderdale to the Jefferson/Jackson weekend and listened to him talk to us on the beach in ninety five degree weather. We were not a large group, but we were dying in the heat and spraying each other with water bottles, and excited to welcome John Edwards, at that time the dem candidate for vice president. Nelson came on the makeshift stage and vowed...VOWED...to us that he would represent us in our quest to find out what had gone wrong in Florida and the other states with voting fraud. He swore he was going to be our representative to find out exactly what went wrong, and this would NEVER EVER happen again!!

And my mistake was that I believed him.

Lo and behold: That same year Vote Fraud cost Kerry the election in Ohio. And Bill Nelson not only didn't stand up for us, but he buried his head in the sand and allowed this travesty to happen again.

Yes, I am bitter. This man deceived me. He deceived all of us. But worse of all, he swore that he would be our champion against this kind of thing.

So there it is there. And so, as I said before, I will not vote for Harris. But it grinds me to no end to vote for this man who has no right to represent himself as a democrat, or even as an honest human being.

I find the whole thing very strange, you would think that the conservatives would want a more
popular candidate, maybe they have written it off anyway.

Sept. There are two (maybe more) primary opponents but they are unknowns and not well financed.

on edit....but then they have the machines, the secretary of state and the whole panoply of criminals.

16. She has three opponants in the primary
All political newcomers with not much financing and organization. One however, has name recognition, LeRoy Collins Jr., a retired Admiral and son of highly regarded former Gov. LeRoy Collins. If the Fla 'pukes mount an organized opposition to Cruella, IMO thats the guy they'll rally behind... but I don't think its gonna happen. The 'puke base (fundies and Dem-haters) love Cruella.

19. one thing that I noticed about Bush co
they really are the center of the donut, them and a few toadies, when they go, the whole thing
flies apart. I remember when I was growing up that there was scads of successful prominent,
leaders of both parties, it was hard to pick the best to run.

18. K. Harris the Queen of election fraud
Edited on Wed Jun-28-06 07:13 PM by nebula
Given her glaring desperation to win, and experience rigging elections,

there's no reason (for me at least) to believe she won't attempt to rig her own.

Why wouldn't she?

24. Look at that approval rating for Jeb
58% approval, 30% dissaprove.

He's got to be royally ticked at GW. The GOP nomination is a mess for '08 but if GW had performed competently then Jeb would run and be the huge favorite.

Don't let hatred for GW and/or Jeb deny that reality. Florida is a vital electoral state and if the Republicans could all but lock it up that would be a logical high priority. Until GW dropped below 40% and stayed there, I assumed Jeb would be the nominee in '08. That 58% approval rating tells me the handicapping basics were correct, anyway.

27. Think Harris will able to again purge the voting rolls of Dem's....
Edited on Wed Jun-28-06 10:46 PM by LaPera
use the electronic voting machines to steal votes and keep minorities from voting, keep the Dem precincts with an inadequate amount of voting machines -- and come away with a "shocking" upset, after midnight on election night...that the press would find a way to justify and then ignore....

Even this obviously lopsided race is something that's not too much to conceive the republicans would try to steal if they need the seat.

The greedy Harris believes she is owed for 2000...and it's so comical to watch.
