I'm crying -- it is about time that one of our leaders says
what we all know and what we all have been saying for years.

It is such a relief to hear the words spoken in public, to hear someone call George W. Bush and his administration out for their crimes.

I'm crying tears of relief and tears of pain.

This is where my nation has come, I hate them for destroying it. I want my nation back.

Thank you Al Gore. :patriot:

1. This speech should be required listening
I am glad he is in a position now to speak the truth so brilliantly.

5. I am grateful that he is speaking the truth
and speaking it so brillantly.

Damn all of those that said he would not make a good president.
Had he been given his win, had the supreme court not stolen his victory from him, our nation would be safer, our lives better.

I love Al Gore.

7. It needs to be a viral video ASAP
So what if the MSM doesn't cover this.... we need this video to
send to everyone we all know (and they can tell their friends and so on and so on).

Will Al's people get this out on pass-along video for us all to use?

rebuild. The insurance company has said "f you", so I am in the hands of the red tape agencies from hell. x(

I have to go refill the butane tanks attached to my femansion, but I want to finish watching Al Gore. Also, I really don't know what the hell I am doing, so I am trying to get some direction.

I have learned so much, never thought I would plug my own tire, never worried about butane tanks for hot water and heat.

The adventures continue.

Thanks for asking and donating to help us. I'm grateful that you haven't forgotten us, please don't let others forget us.

Many on DU have been giving hard core calls to action. It's sad to me that the Activist HQ forum is one of the least popular, based on number of posts.

What more do you want? Tell me where you live and I'll come over with a blowhorn and give you a call to action you won't soon forget! :spank: :P

18. They truly have failed us...
And they ought to be kicked out of office this November.

I'm really sad being living in the District of Columbia, I have no representation in the United States Congress except for Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton, who has very limited power in the House (she can only vote "in committee").

I pay federal taxes just like every other American, and the decisions the United States Congress make affect me just like they affect every other American.

Yet, I have no Representative or Senator to write to.

So I am asking all of you here on D.U. to please be my voice.

Please write your Representatives and Senators. And if they don't hold this Administration accountable, kick them out of office this year.

Edited on Mon Jan-16-06 05:29 PM by MissWaverly
I believe much has been delayed or suppressed until the conservatives got what they wanted
2 RW judges on the Supreme Court so they could have Roe vs Wade overturned. As soon
as Alito is confirmed look for everything to bust loose because they have no loyalty
to GWB at all. They were just using him to get to Roe vs Wade.

but I remember them saying that the speculation was that Fitzgerald wanted to wait until
after the Alito confirmation was out of the way, I found it unusual that there's been nothing
going on with Libby since he was indicted October 28, 2005. (Novak's leak was in July of 2003)

58. Yes, but they are not Bush base anymore
When I read Fooled Again, I detected a shrinking of Bush's Base in the summer of 2004,
a lot of Republicans were coming to the realization that the his foreign policy and
fiscal policy were not in line with their ideas and they disagreed with the
Iraq war, so who was left to muster on the fight, the fundies, the moralists who
were not necessarily fundies but still want Roe v Wade overturned and the porkers
who were in it to soak up as much money as possible either before or after the election
and some mainstream republicans who follow O'Reilly and Faux news. Now the fundies
and the moralists see this as their last chance to get Roe v Wade overturned and
they are not going to blow it.

would get the Iraq mess to clean up, the Republicans are not used to cleaning up their own
messes, they have traditionally stuck it to the other party to shoulder so they could stand
and yell catcalls/or whine from the sidelines. I still have the feeling that Bush got into power by a legal quip and he will get out of power by a legal quip.

66. I'm doing so much better than you.
My little femansion has the hot water (well, when I keep the butane tanks full) and electricity.

Though my lot is barren, my hopes are not. I'm looking into building me a dome home when I get the funding.

Fighting the red tape is tiresome, but it will not defeat me.

You and yours are in my prayers.

I sent the images of the various international levees to my friend that was speaking at a conference this past weekend. He was bringing the levee dilemma to the attention of the audience.

I'll keep making noise for you folks in NOLA, keep doing the same for us.

 :loveya:

79. OMG - you don't have hot H2O?
Oh my Swamp friend....I posted earlier in a thread about how excited I was to have hot water and couldn't live without it.....I'm so sorry....And you have my heart felt thoughts with you about what you and NOLA are going through....my flood was bad, but nothing, nothing compares to what you all went through....I also am sickened by the lack of action in your beautiful city....they say that the span of attention for disasters is 6 months for action to happen or it gets ignored....I guess that only gives your fair city another 45 days....ugh...I feel sick....

47. I cried too.
I was lucky to be in DC to see and hear Al Gore. He was wonderful. He spoke the truth. I cried for what should have been, and I cried because of what we have become.

52. Thanks.
I live near DC, so I could not pass up the chance to hear this speech. It was very moving. I'm not sure what I am feeling right now. This man should have been our president. At the end of the speech Gore gave a message of hope, and yet I worry that we have gone beyond the point of no return. When will America wake up? I guess it's up to us to make enough noise until Congress listens.

Edited on Mon Jan-16-06 08:57 PM by Faye
or at least implying it. he specifically references violations of law, constitution, the rights of the people.....repeatedly.

"unconstitutional" has been the key word

i'm posting link to the video on myspace so my 200 some odd friends can see...

80. Oh Merh...

I can't cry anymore...I think that I've become so numbed lately with all that has been happening...I feel such outrage about the activities of this government and the Bush Cabal....

But, I'm relieved and happy to hear that someone like Al Gore has the courage to stand up and call out these criminals....

I want my nation back too....:patriot:
