I am really sick and tired of this "war on terror" bullshit !
Edited on Wed Jun-28-06 10:10 AM by kentuck
I am sick and tired of these chickenshits that are constantly preaching fear into our people. Yes, we have people that do not like us. But, we have always had people that do not like us.

I am sick and tired of chickenhawks, who had an opportunity to serve in war, but turned their tails and cut and run. We are a nation that has experienced far greater threats without our leaders intentionally planting fears into people. I despise those spineless characters that run and hide in the bushes.

We should be a nation with courage - not a nation of cowards! This is not one of our finer moments. We should not permit anyone to plant fears in our people. We know there are threats but there have been much bigger threats. We regret that we had the misfortune of having incompetent leaders that permitted 9/11 to happen. And now they run like scared little young rabbits in the brambles and they want everyone else to share their fears. Well, I say, screw them!

So monstrous that not even the opposition is willing to call them out.

5. Sixty years ago, faced with two malevolent empires which had
some 20 million men under arms and were overrunning nation after nation, we had "nothing to fear but fear itself".

Today, faced with a couple thousand fanatical mad bombers, most of them isolated in distant parts of the globe, we live in terror.

I just don't get it, I guess.

20. Help yourself.
It's an argument I've been using for years -- that the terrorists may be a slight threat to individuals, but they can never threaten the nation.

6. It's time we faced up to the truth...
We are being used for political purposes in a "war" that should have been over by now, except for the folly, once again, of the people in our White House. I, a single American, refuse to live in fear any longer. George W Bush can kiss my ass!

Edited on Wed Jun-28-06 10:22 AM by NNN0LHI
The Dem's should be focusing on the Bush / bin Laden family connections but they won't do that. I think they are scared of being anthraxed or having a plane accident if they do.

9. I know that the Dems "playing along" makes it real hard, but....
as an individual American, I will not follow the Democratic or the Repubs on this issue. I will not follow their fear tactics. I will call bullshit when I see it. I am not blind to the threats to our country but I refuse to surrender anymore to these tyrants that are in charge of our nation. I will say again. Screw them!

10. People are now even afraid to challenge their fear-mongering...
Edited on Wed Jun-28-06 10:40 AM by kentuck
They are afraid they will be called "unpatriotic". Some have come to believe that we are mortally threatened by these peasants from the Third World who attacked this great nation with boxcutters. Like a virus, the fear swept over our people, spread like the wind by the propagandists and the military adventurists looking for a "cause" to continue robbing the Treasury of our nation. Screw them!

I know this is "politically incorrect" to say. And even DUers are afraid to say it, even if they believe it, because they are "afraid" it might give the Repubs fodder for the next election...

12. im with you, War on Terror is just another excuse to make money
Just like the Cold War, its just another excuse to scare people into thinking we must spend half our federal budget on Defense and meanwhile Defense Contractors have great profits. I am sooooooo sick of it too.

They intentionally hate America because of their love of power and greed...They know what they are doing and they do it even though it harms our nation. They are traitors in my opinion.

22. We have brought this on ourselves...
Edited on Wed Jun-28-06 07:39 PM by gygy
The hysterical blaming of Bush for 9/11--when Atta and the others clearly moved into the U.S. and set up shop during Clinton's reign--are to blame for any over-reaction. If we want the president to protect us and warn us before something happens--and we make it evident we're going to blame him for every single tiny little lapse--then, yes, the current 'sky-is-falling' atmosphere is exactly what you're going to get.

Expecting the gov to wearn us in advance of EVERYTHING--what did you think it would look like?

I vote for BOTH sides of government being more reasonable.

23. "The hysterical blaming of Bush for 9/11..." ??
One little assumption: Bill Clinton or Al Gore would have done the same thing as George Bush when the FBI told them about the terrorists training in planes and that Osama bin Laden planned to attack the United States? I don't buy that assumption. But if it makes you feel better, keep making excuses for this embecile now in the White House? Can I guess who you voted for? Hysterical? Incompetence. Ignorance. Arrogance. Lies. Deception. Criminal acts. Who's to blame?

25. Bush is doing something in advance NOW.
And all these terror alerts over every little thing are a direct result. Be careful what you wish for--you've got it now. If he doesn't do enough, you blame him, if he warns you about everything, you blame him. Why don't you get good and honest and admit that there is NOTHING he could do that would satisfy you--you will NEVER approve of ANYTHING he does, now isn't that the truth?
