I heard he briefed Congress only when they knew the press was going to run the story. Anyone hear this? Link?

1. Don't know for sure
But, the pattern seems to be, we only do things when we absolutely have to do so. Don't bother with that pesky Constitution and regulations and such. I don't think it's always about him trying to cover up what he is doing, I think often it's about being completely disengaged and trying to cover up what he really doesn't know about what "the boys" are doing. It's the Frat Boy attitude, that we have to live with for the next few years.

2. He probably notified a select few
That's the game he likes to play with things he considers "state secrets".

boxcutters with cash in the local hardware store the other day. Their banking records will not show this, but I thought they might want to know.

ON EDIT: To state that this is a hypo..... don't want agent Mike showing up here anytime soon.

6. BUshco is making a lot of noise about this to COVER UP SOMETHING ELSE
JMHO

either they are trying to rally thier base to come out and vote

or there is something else coming down the pike from the NYT and they want to discredit the Times a head of time.

5. Because it is logical to FOLLOW THE MONEY, I assumed Bushco WASN'T
doing it.

Just like he isn't protecting our Ports.

At any rate, Bush has claimed in several speeches to be looking at Terrorist banking transactions.

I think the FALSE OUTRAGE over this regarding the NYT is a cover for something else. They are hiding something else that is going to come out, and they want to discredit the NYT first.
