I Think It Is Sad That I Wish Richard Nixon Was President Now

Richard M. Nixon was a lying sack of shit. He was the worst president that could be imagined.

How far have our standards fallen? It is sad.

Nixon saw to the establishment of the EPA and NOAA. He flirted with the idea of a minimum guaranteed income.

Nixon is a Saint compared to the evil pathetic bastard in the White House in 2006.

I'm so sad.

1. Gotta agree
But what makes scub so awful is...his admin makes the three worst administrations in US History look good by comparison: Buchanan, Grant and Harding look positively competant next to scrubbie.

3. problem IS, that Nixon was SMART, and with a VERY similar
crew of zealots, combined with the compliant media of today, and the concomitant fascist sophisticaton, I think he'd be MUCH worse, even, than Bush.

never forget that his ambitions were boundless, and the things he was planning were as bad, believe it or not, than the BFEE

seriously

if you read "The Wars of Watergate," which goes into GREAT detail about the things that weren't commonly dealt with, you'll get an idea of what I'm talking about

I agree that the 70s version of Nixon is preferable to today's BFEE, but bringing him forward might be as bad, or worse, if that's even conceivable. Always remember the brazenness of things like his enemies list, or the existence of Hoover as his FBI director (if you brought him back, too, it would probably be no contest)

think COINTELPRO, NSA spying, etc., under Nixon

but, wait! look at the cast...there are so many key figures that were just getting their start under that regime.....it's pretty twilight zonish, yes?

5. It's curious .....
Nixon did more good for traditional Native Americans than any other president. He had a good side. He was also an emotionally damaged fellow, who did a lot of damage to the country as a result of his personal pathology.

When he was president, I thought it was impossible for the country to do worse.

6. He also had an enemies list, burglarized Democratic headquarters,
engaged in criminal acts, dragged his feet on Vietnam until the toll reached 58K, violated civil rights of those he disagreed with, had "henchmen" as staffers, chuckled with Billy Graham about how all the nig**rs and Jews have taken over everything....

Except for the fact that Billy Fucking Graham has learned to keep his fat trap shut, what's the difference? I don't miss Nixon. He was a LOUSY president, just like this one is.
