"America is a nice place to vacation, but I wouldn't want to live there"
From a Mexican national who absolutely doesn't want to live in this country. He's going back despite having been offered work.

My oh my, how BushCo has changed America!

2. probably not
They can come over here, work for a few years, and have enough to go back and open their own business.

At least 75% don't stay here.

3. LOL, I checked to see that he was NOT kidding me.
He said you can be happy there with no money, but the need for lots of money here is too stressful. He's okay without toys and shiny things I guess.

4. Believe it or not, not everyone wants to live in the USA...
Lots of people feel comfortable in their own countries.

7. I am always amused with the view held
by some that everyone wants to live in the US. It's just not worth the stress.

10. I couldn't agree more...
In fact, I'm not sure I would like to go to the US even for a few days, at least while Bush is President.

12. I have a young friend that moved to Mexico
He is an American and he comes to America every year to work for six months and goes back to Mexico. I asked him if he is happy there and he told me it is better there in every way except wages. He said the best job he could get there was an auto mechanic paid $25.00 a day. He said if he could find a decent paying job there he would never wish to come back into the USA. I am sure he is not alone in that regard.

5. I have a best friend whose grandfather was German, and he said...
that he thought it was better living in Germany than it was here in the US. He said, "You've got to pay for every goddamn thing there is." The prime example is prescription pills. You can obtain them for a fraction of the cost in Europe than in the US, but I believe his example spoke more to the money-grubbing culture of the US compared to the less materialistic cultures of other countries.

8. From DSL to prescription pills, prices are inflated in the US.
It's our way of life.

Which is fortunate.

When enough Americans can't afford the high prices, the rest of the world cannot compensate and *KABLAMMO*, our economy goes belly up.

And the American working class is not to blame. We didn't set the prices ridiculously high.

11. here's another mexican...
...who decided he preferred living in his own country.

I lived in the USA for 11 years but in July 2004 came back to Mexico, swearing not to return if the smirking chimp stole the election.

And well, here I am back in Mexico.

Home sweet home (with its own presidential election coming up in less than a week)
