Wanted: Animated image of burning flag
Burning a flag is a powerful symbolic gesture, and that's precisely why it's so controversial and emotionally charged. But if it's entirely symbolic, then would an animated picture of a burning flag not also constitute desecration, even though no actual flags are involved?

2. A few of these are (bad) animations
http://www.theodora.com/flags/new8/flag_burning_1.html

I noticed a very odd thing: either the flags being burned were at the height of the Clinton impeachment fiasco--and the arsonists are hardly the scruffy, typically leftist types the amendment is targeted toward--or they are overseas.

5. yes it would, it's the thought that counts, after all
and it is a message of hate - not hatred of Bush, or Bush policies or hatred of Republicans, or even of Republican voters. But hatred of America. That is not a message that I support, and I do not think it will play well in Peoria. :patriot:

from now on I plan to make as many jokes as I can about flag burning around conservative friends since I know how easy they are to piss off. :7

since there is a severe shortage of anger in the world. Plus, it wins elections too. The candidate who pi$$es off the most voters usually wins.

6. I once saw a video called "Flag Bag Thang"...
Edited on Tue Jun-27-06 11:55 PM by ClassWarrior
...in which the filmmaker ponders burning a brown paper grocery store sack with the flag printed on it - the store's blatant attempt to exploit patriotism. Then he burns it.

Very simple, yet powerful.
