This is what that colossal idiot Frist said of the Flag Amendment!
Rep. Idiot Frist (R-Tennessee): "Countless men and women have died defending that flag. It is but a small humble act for us to defend it."

Yea, that's right: Countless men and women died defending a rectangular piece of cloth. No, you drooling, mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging, balloon-watching moron! They died defending the freedoms that the flag symbolizes, including the right to protest, even if that includes burning the flag!

In other news this amendment was voted down by only ONE VOTE! ... Uh...victory?

1. It was an engineered one vote. Are you kidding? The Cons don't want...
...to kill the goose that lays the golden egg! If they passed this, they'd have to think up new wedge issues with which to tear our nation apart. But they went to the brink to make it look good.

10. That's no joke.
They would never ban abortion or gay marriage either for the same reasons, atleast not nationally.

2. I thought Frist was against it.....
It seems like I read somewhere that the Senate leaders (I took that to mean Frist and Reid) were against it. But, I could be wrong. Who was the guy that voted against the amendment?

5. Durbin and McConnell, the whips, were against it.
Frist and Reid supported it, although Reid preferred the Durbin amendment and I read that he may have voted no if it looked like it was going to pass.

11. Bennett - R - Utah
which was a real suprise to me, since Bennett is the fellow senator from Utah of Orrin Hatch (Dick) - Utah, who sponsored the trash.

4. Many veterans fought for that flag...
...including Frank Lautenberg, Dan Inouye, John Chafee, Colin Powell, John Kerry, and Bob Kerrey, all who opposed the amendment.

15. If they fought for the flag, they're idiots.

If they fought for the freedoms that that flag represents, they're patriots. A subtle but important distinction.

7. Democracy/VERIFIABLE Elections and our
Constitution are what it symbolizes. The BU**SH** regime, and their enablers, are pissing all over what our flag stands for. THEY took an oath of office to uphold and protect our constitution, just like our soldiers did.

8. humble knuckle draggers

would be so much more helpful if they would defend the freaking CONSTITUTION instead of defending a symbol called the flag. How stupid are they, really? Pretty stupid. I'm soooo tired.

14. These stupid fucks have no idea
what freedom is or what the Bill of Rights was supposed to protect.

Who needs Bin Laden when we have the neo-cons to take take away our freedom and end the great experiment.
