6. Jeff Fieger had a huge smile on his face
when Joe asked him about Rush and whether he was being harassed by police. Fieger said that Rush is a known drug abuser, just like a child molester, and cops will single him out every time, just as they do with any truck driver with his record. If it turns out to be just Viagra, the cops will wink and smile to each other and send him on his way.

7. Betcha it has something to do with this..
Jon Stewart, Enemy of Democracy?

Excerpt: This is not funny: Jon Stewart and his hit Comedy Central cable show may be poisoning democracy.

Two political scientists found that young people who watch Stewart's faux news program, "The Daily Show," develop cynical views about politics and politicians that could lead them to just say no to voting.

9. Of course the fact that greedy, homicidal maniacs have take over...
the Media, the Federal Government and the counting of the Vote has nothing whatsoever to do with this cynicism. :sarcasm:

10. I remember reading that article
Edited on Tue Jun-27-06 08:31 PM by Rex
And thinking 'what total bunk'! I dunno who the flunky scientists are, but they should be ASHAMED of themselves for publishing such a subjective and openly biased report! This is 'crap science'. :eyes:

14. Thought people had learned not to trust the MSM by now.
This is a prime example of selective fact picking. I would highly suggest before anyone believe a word of the article that was published, go and actually read the paper the scientists produced.

And you will find that that what is written in the article is taken entirely out of context and doesn't really jive with what the scientists who did the research nor the paper itself actually says.

12. Cynical... and it's all Stewart's fault, right?
Couldn't possibly have anything to do with politicians who look out for their own butts time and again rather than constituents. Couldn't have anything to do with things like our "war on terror" or any of a million Orwellian terms the Bush adminstration has come up with for their continual desecration of this country.

Nah. Must be that Stewart guy.

I give younger people more credit than that. Is my teenager cynical? You bet, often. These days, the smart ones likely are a bit. How not to be?

13. "**could**** lead them to just say no to voting."
Yeah, and I could win the lottery too.

Wasn't the # of young voters way up last election? I think so, so there goes the good professors' 'coulds'.

15. What was the turnout for young voters anyway... unprecedented, right?
I remember coverage of colleges, where people were falling asleep in lines so long almost to midnight at some places. Such a crock... people aren't accountable for accuracy let alone blatant lies and misrepresentation. Sucks, don't it>
