14. Bush won't resign
he doesn't even have the sense of decency that Nixon had.

Did I really just say that?

5. That is completely correct - Impeach, resign, drag out kicking
and screaming, it doens't matter how we get him out, just get him out, then put him on trial.

But Bush will say he did it to protect America and the Republican controlled congress will believe him.

7. I just heard on the radio that former President Pinnochet of Chile
Edited on Thu Dec-29-05 08:31 PM by Cleita
was fingerprinted and booked for crimes committed during his time in office. He protested that a former President shouldn't be subjected to that indignity, but the authorities said that no Chilean was above the law, not even a former President. It seems we need to adopt this legal stance here too.

9. Yes! No one should be above the law in the US either. Fat
chance though. There's a reason why no prez has ever been without resources and funds from the start.
But there's always a first time!

17. Pinochet also benefited from a September 11 tragedy.
1973. It's taken this long for justice to catch up to him. We hope it does not take 30+ years for justice to be applied to the current administration.

As has been said, "The wheels of the gods grind slowly, but they grind exceedingly fine."

11. I would like to see bush 'gone' from office as much as anyone....
but it is necessary to consider who/what would 'fill the void' should bush leave office (by resignation or impeachment).

Would the people of the USA be left with 'an evil just as great', but that we 'don't know' versus with bush an 'evil' that we 'do know'. "Be careful of what you wish for, because it might just come true" comes to mind.

My point is that we shouldn't just think of who we DON'T want (bush), but we must think strategically about who we DO reasonably want in that top executive branch job...and who could reasonably be able to move into that spot.

It's a 'toughy', that's for sure!

12. Bush* is evil and breaking the law now, and admitted
to that. We have no choice if we want to maintain - or retrieve - our rights. Period.

13. I agree he's 'got to go'.....
....I'm just asking for some planning/strategizing as to who will take his place (especially if you look at the official 'line of succession' and assuming 'a change happens' prior to 2008).

It's a legitimate question. America doesn't need/want/can't tolerate another bush-type/PNAC'er in there. But d*mn the deck is really stacked.

Like I said before, 'It's a toughy'....a very difficult situation (but not necessarily one that can't be overcome).

Where do we 'go from here'....plan, plan, plan.

18. When someone's leading you down the primrose path
it's never to late to find a new guide. Even if the new guide is no better than the old guide, at least a disruption in leadership has the possibiltiy of disorienting the cabal and turning onlookers against them, thereby slowing them down with their anti-democratic plans.

Impeachment hearings, even a resignation, accompanied by investigations of breadth and depth, will convince the pukes in congress to stop blindly supporting anyone in this administration in a position of power. In my opinion, whether it's impeachment or resignation, a new pResident can only be beneficial to the future of our country.

If you're against George W. Bush you'e with the enemy. If you're against the war on terra the terrorists won.
