Film shoot nixed by SWAT team
In a bizarre twist of events, what should have been a routine film shoot turned into a real-life thriller.

Members of a film crew got the shock of their lives Saturday when a Larimer County SWAT team surrounded the crew and ordered everyone on their knees, hands behind their heads.

The crew from Twelve Monkeys Dancing Films, a Denver-based independent film company, was shooting a scene from their current low-budget feature, "Different Kinds," in the North Pines campground just west of Loveland.

In the scene, Chris Borden, the lead actor, plays the role of Jared, who is holding a girl hostage and pistol whips a good samaritan who tries to intervene.

"They told me they were going to send rounds my way," said Borden who was incredulous about the whole incident.

2. Now that would of been
something to see.. They had a permit and yet, the swat team comes out.. Sounds kind of strange that they didn't check this out before spending taxpayers dollars on false alarms...

3. They're charged with "disorderly conduct"
Edited on Sun Jun-25-06 09:18 AM by Eric J in MN
a charge which shouldn't exist in law, since apparently cops can charge anyone with it.

4. You'd think the CAMERAS, LIGHTS, and SOUND EQUIPMENT
would have given at least one of those cops a clue.

Militarizing the police force is one of the worst things the fascists have done to this country. All that fancy gear has made them stupid.

5. Seems like a mistake by the cops...
but when they realized they made it, they slapped on phony charges to justify it. Those citations should be thrown out and the crew should get an apology from the Swat team.

7. shit, it's a SWAT Team filled with Frank Drebins...
From the Naked Gun:

Mayor: "And I assume we won't have any trouble again like you had on the South Side."

Drebin: "Excuse me, but when I see someone stabbing another guy to death and everyone's just standing around watching, I shoot the bastard. That's my policy."

Mayor: "That was a 'Shakespeare in the Park' performance of Julius Caesar! You killed five actors; good ones!"

Morans.

8. Ya know, I really enjoyed those films!!!!
And I was so pissed off at OJ for murdering his wife; not only did he kill an innocent woman, he ruined a great franchise, the bastard.

9. yeah, I can't watch any scene with OJ...
without thinking "...and then he savagely murdered two people."

It's like finding out an actor is a pedophile, or something: you can't watch any of that actor's scenes without seeing a huge "PEDOPHILE!!" sign flashing on the screen everytime he's on. (Or, to a much lesser extent, any Tom Cruise movie: I can't watch "A Few Good Men" or "Jerry Maguire" without thinking, "I'M IN LOVE WITH KATIE!! Matt, Matt, Matt, you're being glib!")

So, lesson to all the actors out there: don't kill anyone or become a pedophile. Not because it's bad, but because it'll ruin watching your movies for us.

10. Yep, and I shouldn't have ignored the fact that he also murdered
that young man, as well. I will say, I admire the father of that lad; he won't stop dogging the bum.
