COALITION DEATHS TODAY - 2,516/ IRAQI DEATHS THIS
Edited on Sun Jun-25-06 07:58 AM by leftyladyfrommo
YEAR - APPROXIMATELY 5500. That is both civilian and military. The Iraqi deaths are often about 1,000 a month.

LA Times article puts total Iraqi deaths at 50,000.

1. Oh, those are just numbers
Move along, nothing to see here...

*****************

Sarcasm aside, it is so damned sad knowing there are real people behind those numbers, people who would likely be alive had this sham of a war not happened.

2. I wish the media would put the funerals on the air.
That might give people a stronger feeling that these "numbers" are real people with real hopes and dreams and grieving families.

5. But they aren't interested in such things
Bush doesn't want them to put it on and threatens whoever does with loss of privilege (no access to the White House for news, loss of access in Iraq and other locales, etc.) or with legal action (remember what happened when someone showed pictures of caskets?). So in the end, the media self-censor because they want money and they will accept the crap content from Bush in order to get that money.

8. Someone should just say "fuck it" and put them on the air
anyway.

Just one person traveling and photographing each funeral and the grieving families would probably have more impact than all the news stories put together.

10. If you want to help make each death more personal, copy this link...
and blog it... they keep those "numbers" current and personal.

6. You know what would be fun - send out a bill to each and
every person. Bill them for their part of the War.

Maybe then people would start getting the big picture.

12. These figures came from an email message I just received
They must have come from a web site somewhere, but I haven't tried to find it. Some sites, like this one provide quasi-real time updates.
