Anyone catch the military's new term for "insurgents"?
"We had some soldiers who were sent there to investigate gunfire, and they ended up killing two anti-Iraqi forces in the process," said Lt. Col. Jonathan Withington, a spokesman for U.S. forces in Baghdad, using the military's term for insurgents. "It was a confusing situation, and we don't know all the facts yet."

1. Why do the Iraqis hate Iraq?
Why can't they just love their country and accept foreign domination?

Don't they know the foreign army on their soil loves Iraq????

4. They don't want to confuse us.

6. got it wrong
they are aCTUAlly the more altruistic version of our founding fathers. They only mean well throwing off the yoke of the bush hegemony choking off the wealth of their natural oil wealth so we can unfairly get cheap oil prices that are so clearly apparent.

5. The military has been using the term on and off since late 2003.

Terms like "resistance" tend to give the insurgents legitimacy and terms like "guerrillas"
aren't pejorative enough. The military did call Sunni insurgents and Shiite militias
"rejectionists" for a while, but that also implies that the insurgents are Iraqi.

"Anti-Iraqi" is a ridiculous term, but the military, especially the Marines,
keep trying to make it stick.
