An honest question about Allen Colmes.
How in the world can he continue to work with Sean Insanity, or for that matter FOX news. Could it be only about the money? I have heard his radio show only a couple of times but he sounded like a different person than shown on TV. Watching his TV show where he is the one generally providing the teasers on upcoming features and the sensational words (shocking, you won't believe, unbelievable, etc.)he reads with a smile from the teleprompter I want to throw up. They are always stories slanted to FOX's point of view and he just grins and does it.

My question is this, does he have a core belief in his liberal label he proudly claims to have or is he just a phony after the bucks? Compared to many on this board I am probably more conservative than some especially fiscally and the immigration issue. But he looks like a FOX/Hannity tool. I really wonder how he looks at himself in the mirror. Does he know he is being used? Does he care?

7. Ok, assuming some else would do it,
would you compromise your beliefs on national TV for the paycheck, I know I would not allow my self to be used for any price. That is why I asked the question, what is wrong with him if anything.

4. Hilarious "Onion" take on Colmes...

Alan Colmes Loses Argument With Nephew

NEW YORK—Alan Colmes, the liberal co-host of the Fox News debate program Hannity & Colmes, lost an argument to his nephew Bryan while babysitting the 8-year-old Monday. "I wanted to stay up late to watch television, but Uncle Alan said, 'There's already too much self-parenting in America,'" Bryan said. "So I started screaming, 'Mom lets me, Mom lets me,' real loud. He gave in after, like, 20 seconds." In the past two years, Bryan has won arguments with Colmes on the subjects of Pokémon cards, Crunch Berries cereal, and steel tariffs

26. She shared a show with Ron Reagan for a short time
on MSNBC, Coast to Coast I think it was called, and is going to have a show again on MSNBC I understand. She is a fairly nice looking blonde. She worked for Nixon the last few years of his life and than wrote a book about him.

13. IMHO, he's a willing--and well paid, no doubt--doormat for Sean Insanity.
It has to be that. Surely, he cannot believe, for one second, that he's an effective liberal voice on that show. He makes me cringe and, honestly, sometimes, I think he's a shill. I know his radio persona argues against that but still....

14. Hannity is the alpha male on that show. Colmes doesn't
come off as forceful and is not as telegenic.

He doen't stand a chance.

Sad,but true. Television has changed everything.

15. I can't watch him. Hannity dumps all over him and he just takes it.
He might as well not even be there. Hannity should be matched with a starving grizzly bear.

Alan, you make me tune out.

18. I thought Al Franken explained it once
I remember somehwere that Franken or someone else climbed his case about his role and was giving him some arguments he could use on the show, all arguments that required just some spine to make them, and he kept answering Franken, "but that is not the FORMAT of the show."

He is bought and paid for, quite handsomely I suspect, and as another posted observed, if not him, then it would just be someone else. Enjoy the money in hell, Allen.

17. Joe Conason tried to get the job originally
Edited on Fri Jun-23-06 09:40 PM by Adenoid_Hynkel
and from what I've read, quite a few real contenders tried out for the part-but Sean had seen this guy he 'thought would be great' for the part and persuaded roger ailes to give him an audition. No wonder.
Had Joe landed the job, he would have mopped the floor with sean nightly, killing sean's celebrity before it even began.

22. Along with the Globe Trotter vs. the Washington Generals
example another great analogy, but is he sincere or is he a willing tool? Part of me wants to think he truly believes he is doing the best he can, but lately I think he is a major sellout. I felt until up until the chimps pole numbers began to tank he represented better than recently. In my eyes today he is a total joke. Perhaps it is an example of Faux's desperation to rally the base. But again if he is a willing participant what motivates him? I am sure he has plenty of $.
