2. I never get to see the live WH press briefings...

but thanks to an excruciating toothache this morning I got to watch an equally excruciating press conference.

I've gotta say that as slimy and disingenuous as Scotty-boy was, he would at least (usually) politely allow a questioner to finish their question before lying to their face. He would also lie self consciously or humbly. He always had a sort of cute puppy dog look when he knew that everyone else knew that he was lying. Then he'd blow sullen hot air for a few seconds and move on.

Tony Snow just interrupts people willy-nilly, cracks jokes in the middle of serious questions, and snaps at people for no reason. It's amazing what the press corps will put up with. I'd have gotten half a question in and then been arrested for assaulting a federal employee.

4. ITA. I never cease to be amazed at what wusses the WH press

corpse are. Direct Snow to stay on topic. Ask the same question six times until he shows exasperation. Ask the same question six different ways. Make it clear that his crap is rising rapidly and politeness is out the window.

But, the media is owned by Repug-lovers so they are happy with this arrangement and if one of their journalists loses credentials because the question was too liberal, I think they are happy with that as it means they can replace them with a Bush ass kisser.

It irks me when I hear that the journalists are the wussies, when it's the owners and managers of the media outlets themselves that are the wussies.

Looking through it quickly, I saw where he accused Helen THomas of heckling him, but not where he said she was "heckling the teacher." I may have simply missed it in my quick read, but the WH does routinely scrub these presumably complete transcripts to make the bushes look better. This is all about the business of the WH claiming that it's a good anti-terror tactic to monitor US citizens' financial info and then claiming he doesn't know the law.

10. What an asshole!

I'm not particulary familiar with Snow (I try not to watch Faux News), but just watching him during that clip makes me think he's picking up some of Shrubs verbal as well as physical traits. The only difference is that Snow doesn't seem to smirk (yet), and so far he can at least speak more "articulately" than Dimson.
I wonder how long he can stand the heat before he melts.
