NAFTA Super-highway
What do you all think of this NAFTA Super-highway that Bush and the elitists are pushing through?

This highway is going to be 4 football fields wide. The unions and the EPA will have no oversight. Construction is starting next year and any homes in the way will be removed thanks to imminent domain.

Looks like they will get to create their North American Union after all.

2. Is there a map of it's proposed route?
I know it's supposed to parallel I-35...I could potentially be on that route.

5. A friend of mine mentioned this to me the other day
It sounds like this will be the only way goods are brought into the country, therefore closing down all other ports.

7. They want the Teamsters and Longshoremen out of the picture
That's one of the main reasons for this highway. The trucks on this highway will be driven almost exclusively by Mexicans. There will be no border security. They can drive from deep in Mexico, across the border...all the way to Kansas City. The security there? Ran and operated by the Mexican government.

You wonder why our government and media hasnt said a peep about this? It is being forced whether we want it or not.

8. Exactly what my friend said regarding the Teamsters and Longshoremen
Edited on Thu Jun-22-06 09:50 PM by scorpiogirl
It's hard to imagine that it could be as big as 4 football fields wide. He also said, like you, that basically no one knows about it. Amazing what they get away with.

6. Saw something about it on some news show tonight....
They will use existing highways and rail systems. Cargo from China will come through Mexican ports and be transported in Mexican trucks by Mexican truckers. It will completely by-pass the Longshoremen's and Teamsters unions, thus another means of union-busting.

Thom Hartmann has been saying it will be "four football fields wide", but this report didn't mention that.

If people would boycott the cheap Chinese junk being sold at Wal-mart, maybe this could be prevented???

9. LA
Hmmm . . . Let's see. 40% of all imports to and exports from the US currently go through the Ports of Los Angeles. People on this board have long speculated as to what the next terra target will be. What terra incident would make us have to fast track this NAFTA superhighway?

10. On the subject of NAFTA, can someone please tell me
what Gore's opinion is on this? I'm not saying he's the same as Clinton just because he was vice-president; I realise he's much more progressive, but when Clinton made the deals with with NAFTA, did Gore say anything? Just wondering.

12. Dems are in on it too
Kerry voted in favor of NAFTA. And Gore sat and did nothing.

The corporations have both political parties bought and paid for. The politicians don't have to worry about being voted out because they will be financially well taken care of. And in the end it doesn't matter because both parties are paid off.

Unless we get a 3rd party in America real quick that will resist the mega-corporations...America is doomed.

11. I'll tell you what .
Once the slime bush is out of office this lousy highway should be re-routed to go right through the bush ranch , let the imminent domain remove that structure right out of crawford and have the highway end just like those insane bridges to nowhere and not much of anything else that were proposed to suck up state tax dollars . I can see bush now pedaling madly on his card in the spokes bicycle trying to stay out of the way of runaway semi's . Cheney and all the other freaks can sit in the toll booths wearing monkey suits in full dress and go straight to hell . And they can drain their bank accounts to pay for the entire thing .

I suppose they expect people to sit back and admire this highway without bombing each section as it's complete . Will it be the highway through hell or the highway to hell ?
