We're finally updating our DU Groups. Let me know if I forgot anyone.
Edited on Thu Jun-22-06 01:30 PM by Skinner
For the past few months, I have been reluctant to create new DU Groups because we currently have a number of them that are extremely underutilized. Today we're going to be creating some new DU Groups that have been requested, and we're going to select some existing groups for possible deletion. I apologize that I did not do this earlier.

Adding New DU Groups
If my memory serves, we have had requests for the following DU Groups, which are here:

    Cancer Support Group
Add to My Forums | Proposal is here

    Deaf/Hard of Hearing Group
Add to My Forums | Proposal is here

    Latino/Hispanic Group
Add to My Forums | Proposal is here

    Precinct-level Politics Group
Add to My Forums | Proposal is here

Please let me know if I forgot anyone from that list.

Selecting Groups for Deletion
We are going to take a look at our existing DU Groups to see if any of them should be deleted. For the most part, we'll probably pick the Groups with the lowest number of posts in the last three months, and with the lowest number of people who include the group on their "My Forums" list. The one exception is likely 2008 presidential candidates, which will remain because (1) we expect them to get more interest starting next year, and (2) we don't wish to appear to support any candidate over another.

For the DU Groups that we pick for deletion, I will post a thread in each Group to let you know. If there are not enough members who support keeping the group, it will be deleted.

9. can 10 of us DU-er's start a 911 group?
it seems evident that disruptors abound inside the sept.11 forum. A few of us would like to create a room where disrupting would be forbidden.
Can we do that Mr. Skinner?

12. No, we're not going to permit a 9/11 group.
I'm absolutely opposed to the idea of creating a protected space where supporters of 9/11 conspiracy theories are officially protected from having their speculation tested by open debate.

2. I love the idea of the Precinct-Level Politics Group.
that's my Thing.

If you have any experience in retail sales, you will be a hit out in your precinct.

In fact I think I will start a discussion on sales techniques as it applies to retail politics.
