..pretensions. And offering sensible solutions to the mess we are in. And basically telling it like it is. I like that.

7. Thanks I just discovered it comes in on my main TV,
that I rarely use. I like the small crappy one in my bedroom
where it is cool and near computer.

2. This has also been a very clever political move, also, imo....
I do believe the Repubs were planning to withdraw some troops before November election in an attempt to convince their voters that matters were improving to the point that we could withdraw "some" troops. However, when the Democrats made the proposal, the Republicans instinctively take the opposite position. Unfortunately for them, they are taking the wrong position. Democrats have the upper hand in this debate, even if they don't have the numbers in the Senate.

6. I agree. Sheer intelligence AND intellectually curiosity. They
study, they learn, they question, they formulate solutions. They don't just follow any script and throw slogans.

I really wish the public would actually watch this. I wish one of the networks would actually compile a highlight show of all the debate and show it on prime time. Hey, maybe that would be a good reality show: Take an issue, invite legislators to debate, and then have people call in with questions or poll.

5. Forcing the Republican's hand on this war
You heard it, they would rather our people stay and die and get killed by the same Iraqis which we are training.. And if that isn't bad enough, some Republicans want to give amnesty to those same Iraqis who have killed our soldiers... What kind of crazy shit is that???
