22. Can I ask an incredibly foolish question?

I read Opus, as did all my military colleagues, back in the mid-late 80's. We (who got it) passionately loved it.

Then Berkeley Breathed pulled Opus and replaced it with something called...I think, Outland (?).

I was so disappointed that Opus was gone that I pretty much quit comics altogether. (I think "Calvin and Hobbs's creator quit, as well, which added to my frustration.)

I have to admit when I peruse the "Toons" thread, I do a quick scan for the eye grabbing toon I can put up in my office, although, I do go weeks or months without checking it out...now, I'm seeing Opus and my heart's aflutter!!! :loveya:

When and how did the comic come back? Where are you finding it?

Please bear with someone who was unexpectedly reunited with an old,dear and brilliantly funny friend.

25. Yes, Opus is back (Sundays only). For about 2 years now.

Don't feel bad, I only found out about him a few months ago, when I paged through this in a bookstore:

Opus is back in Bloom County, at his old job at the Bloom Picayune, living with a receding-hairline Steve Dallas and Steve's son Auggie. Wackiness ensues.

Advances in newspaper printing and coloring technology gave Berkely Breathed a richer palette to paint with than he had back in the old days, so he revived the weekly strip.
