America Needs A War Tax
Since we will never have another draft, then every time that we go to war, an automtic tax increase of 10% should be added to everyone's tax bracket. So, if you pay 15% in taxes, then you will pay 17.25%. If you pay 20%, then you'd have to pay 23%, etc.

This way everyone would have to share in the sacrifice, and that would make everyone pay attention to the reasons for the war. Also, it would ensure that our treasury is not bankrupted.

4. I think your suggestion is quite sound
If someone is physically sacraficing themselves they should get some benefit.

5. I Would Go Along with That, But...
How would you define "family member"? I can understand son, daughter, father, mother, but what about cousin? Or domestic partner? It can get a little dicey.

3. Interesting idea, but.....
considering the kids of the wealthy are somehow excluded from combat participation (I'm sure there are exceptions), let the upper 10% of the income bracket foot the bill.

8. No. That Won't Work At All
Then we'd fight even more wars because the wealthy would gladly pay a 10% tax if it means that they could rape and pillage a foreign nation.

No, EVERYONE has to pay because then and only then would EVERYONE pay full attention to the reasons for war.

10. Sure...only money speaks to the masses...
Losing their sons, cousins, sisters, etc doesn't get their attention, but a tax bill will.

Sadly, I find myself almost agreeing with you. What a fvcked up country.

6. How many millionaires sons fight in war? Tax them!
If we had a war tax on the rich, there would be no more wars.

9. Everyones??? What about ONLY the top 10%...
THEY are the fuckers we're fighting for! THEY are the fuckers that are benefiting! THEY are the fuckers that could prevent war in the first place!

11. Because The Masses Need To Wake Up and Pay Attention
That's the real problem, and nothing makes them pay attention more than paying out money.
