Legislature doesn't want bills to pass..dems need to opt OUT
and do it in pUBLIC.. They need to call a press conference, OUT the repubes who ARE IN CHARGE..

The dems should just announce that they are NOT going to play their game, and instead will go back to their states and hold a series of OPEN-to-ALL town hall meeting where they will discuss the REAL issues on the minds of americans: (in no particular order)

health care and the lack of it
affordable college
job security
social security protection
how to hold FAIR and accountable elections
how to end George's Iraq adventure
how to strenghten the PUBLIC's input into government
how to really protect america
how to disentangle religion from politics
how to re-secure the same rights for ALL people
how to rein in energy costs

etc etc..

You can bet your last dollar, that the repubes would ditch their dog & pony show and try to counter their efforts..but for ONCE the dems would have had an ORIGINAL idea that trumped the spin machine..AND they would have gotten a lot of attention in the process..
