What can we do to stop the killing in Iraq?
I am so sad, so sickened... I have a Son-in-law stationed in Iraq. I love him, I want him to live. I want all our soldiers to live. I want all innocent Iraqi's to live. What can, this poor American do. I live in a very rural area, no protests here... Please, Please what really can we do?

Peace,
whitedove

4. never ever again support any politician who voted to authorize...
...the war against Iraq. The war against Iraq is a crime against humanity. No politician who supported it deserves to remain in office. Most of them aren't fit for the job, IMO. They voted to authorize war crimes in our names, abusing the authority we granted them. They betrayed America.

5. If you live in a red state or district,
it would be very helpful to put just what you wrote into a short letter and then send it to your US senators and rep, maybe to your local paper too.

Senators:

Representatives:

8. That is a valid concern.
But the way you put it in your OP makes it absolutely clear that you're not threatening them and so they won't retaliate. But it's a very powerful statement and one they will listen to.

I wrote to Sen. Frist last year about the election fraud, but in a nice way, and for months afterward I got regular constituent e-mails from his office.

10. speaking OUT is the best defense & good for mental HEALTH!
Not to mention, "This IS still America,ain't it?!" ;}
What a great mother-in-law I bet You are!
#1) I am the Mother of a returned OIF Veteran,on-line activism was & still is my main coping skill. I like using the congress.org site..You can have Your letter hand-delivered for an extra fee, or post Your letter to YOUR elected employee, for public viewing..also a good 'reality check',to read what OTHERS are emailing DC about.

#2)The 'Guys' are not allowed(by Law) to express much dissent..I personally took it as MY responsibility, speaking OUT because MY Soldier could NOT;to know the FACTS,verify with several sources,& by then I'd be good & mad, and fire off emails to DC & media.

#3)I also urge YOU & Your Daughter to look into some SUPPORT groups,in this.
I have been involved with Military Families Speak Out(mfso.org) since before the war,and last Summer went to 'Camp Casey' in Crawford, when Cindy Sheehan had to go to her sick mom. There were 100's of us there, mad, outraged, upset, fearful, many greiving, but ALL were committed to showing this bush-Iraq war is unacceptable.
Dove, there were Veterans from ALL our wars since WWII, connecting, sharing with, HEALING EACH OTHER. Military Moms,Dads, Wives & ALL,were supported and acknowledged, & UNDERSTOOD, as 'Civilians' just can't. There are many different groups, the Crawford PEACE House is a good reSource, another great bunch is VETERANS for America.org, great advocates for Vets, Soldiers, & Families, they have excellent news & good blogs & links. VETERANS for PEACE(.org)& IVAW.net,Iraq Veterans Against war, are 2 Other groups I proudly support. For some REAL fun, check out freewayblogger.com! See if they don't inspire some dissent! ;)

If I can help, in any Way, please email me privately.
Best Wishes for YOUR FAMILY. Trust YourSelf, in these things,& opportunities to speak OUT will appear! ;) Be Blessed~===] g

12. Keep fighting to elect people who feel as we do.
Even if it looks like a lost cause. What else is left?

13. I feel so lost!
I feel lost, here in rural America no one seems to care. I want to scream, I want to do something!!!!!!!
What can we really do besides pray and try to wake up the people?

Peace,
Dove

Please pray for peace!
