I'd be willing to bet it was intentional, too-- early on, conflicts between Shi'a and Sunnis helped to suppress the former ruling Sunnis from which the Ba'athists were largely drawn. Bremmer, and later Negroponte-- this sort of internal violence served U.S. interests during the first year or so of the occupation.

Jane Harmon has been M.I.A. for the Democratic party (being in a "safe" seat) the 4+ years I haved lived in her district on *every* issue of importance.

I'm happy she's talking tough now. Let's see how she votes.

7. That's exactly what happened. It sounds to me like Marcy gave

her more of a run for her money than she expected. Maybe that was the only way to get her attention. I, too, notice that she's "adjusted" her thinking a little. Perhaps she knows we're still watching her, even if Winograd isn't a contender any longer. Marcy, you STILL ROCK!

especially where I live in the South Bay. It's so conservative we used have "B1" Bob Dornan as our rep, I wouldn't call this area 'safe'.
