Discussed Right Now. Apparently a Hinchey amendment in the House. I couldn't find it on the web but a friend called me, she's watching on TV.

Edited on Tue Jun-20-06 08:21 PM by jbnow
No funds for military operations against Iran without congressional approval.

Even 34 Dems have noted nay so far. Why would anyone?

Why not proclaim bush king and be done with it?

(Edited to channge the q to an n. Iraq, Iran, just one letter off)

8. Amendment failed. Breathe a sigh of relief.
Of course, Der Chimpenfuhrer will do what he wants anyway.

But 48 "Democrats" voted with the Repukes.

13. It looks to me like Hinchey was trying to get Congress back some of its
checks and balances against the executive branch by having it be the authorizing power to decide whether or not money would be able to be allocated for operations against Iran. This would mean Congress would have to go on record about this if they made that decision.
Unfortunately, it did not pass.
But, the vote was not about approval to go to war - yet. So you can breathe again.

Or, I could have it wrong.

14. so bottom line is BushCo can approve funds for Iran War without Congress
approving funds? Where will BushCo get the funds?

Whoops, my bad. From China and Saudi A and UAE, of course. :grr:

Good riddance to those congressmen who continually vote to give King Chimp more power. Why do they even show up to work? Just crown the damn chimp, already. :argh:
