'Here's to another year of resisting the gay lifestyle.' saith Cerabino

http://www.palmbeachpost.com/opinion/content/local_news/epaper/2006/01/15/s1c_bino_0115.html

Commentary: It's about time we broke back of same-sex marriages

(when you first start to read this article you think is must be satire - but - it isn't)

-snip-

Let us join the parade of states, those great paragons of progressive social change — Georgia, Mississippi, and Kentucky come to mind — that have a law prohibiting same-sex marriage and a state constitutional amendment to prohibit it.

Florida is looking a little gay these days by having only a law that denies same-sex marriage, but not piling on with a redundant ban written into the constitution.

Think of it as double protection.

What kind of Red state are we, anyway?

-snip-

"Naturally, I've been petrified of the homosexuals, who have been a constant threat to the sanctity of my marriage. Every year, my wife and I toast each other, and say, 'Here's to another year of resisting the gay lifestyle.'
-snip-
--------------------------------------

but maybe I'm wrong and it is satire

it was written by: Frank Cerabino, Palm Beach Post Columinist

1. How sillly.
With all the real problems in the world, it seems awfully silly to me to worry about what consenting adults do because they're in love.

When people are having gay sex, it means they aren't bombing other countries.

3. If this is what he and his wife toast every year
then they must have an absolutely miserable heterosexual lifestyle.

4. No way that isn't satire
Edited on Sun Jan-15-06 02:16 PM by nuxvomica
I'm surprised you read it otherwise. He talks about Dems unwilling to stand up for "unpopular decency" and Florida getting its "scapegoating act in line" because there are "important issues to obfuscate."

7. LOL - Yes, it is an AMAZING feat to have not 'turned gay'
in the last 12 months!!!

Congrats, folks, on never wavering on your heterosexuality! I know the temptation is strong, all those sexy gay men with their tight pecs and hairless chests, it must almost kill you not to give in.

So well done!!! :toast:

15. I can't believe anybody,
including the OP, thought this was serious comment. I've never read anything by Cerabino that wasn't satire.
