"Private 1st Class Joshua Key describes one of the horrifying experiences in Iraq that led him to decide to go AWOL from the U.S. military. He alleges that war crimes are being perpetrated by U.S. military personnel in Iraq. The Canadian War Resisters Support Campaign works to support those who refuse to participate in the U.S. invasion, harking back to the Canada of Pierre Elliot Trudeau, who wanted Canada to be a "refuge from militarism"."

2. These kids (apologies to twenty-somethings) are truth tellers.

In a way, the Marine (?) who recorded his song celebrating the slaughter of an Iraqi family was also a truth teller, but he used black "humor" to deny the humanity of its victims, and his own. Same story, one told with open eyes and a warm heart, the other with shields fully up.
