Has it been reported that the Capitol Police are pissed that McKinney
wasn't charged?

We no longer have AAR here in Atlanta, and while out running errands, I was listening to the local whackjobs on talk radio.

These two guys kept going on and on about how pissed off the Capitol Police were that the grand jury didn't indict McKinney.

I suppose it could be true, but this was the first I've heard this.

1. After Marion Barry, nobody should be surprised by anything
a DC jury (including a grand jury) does. It's just the way it is.

2. What do you mean?
Are you saying she should've been charged? It was a bullshit charge. They won't show the tape. They just talk shit about her "hitting" the cop. Without the tape (which they refuse to show) nobody knows what happened.

8. Barry was on tape and tried for a felony, the jury convicted
for only a misdemeanor. No compenent attorney will admit that it was anything other than pure and simple jury nullification. We are either for accountability or not. But, while single-handedly setting back DC statehood 20 years, Barry did utter an all-time quote: "Bitch set me up!"

9. the bottom line is that he was tried, convicted and served time
now you want to take a time machine and go back and change the charge(s).

Paging Mr. Peabody!!!!!

12. Have you seen that tape? The jury saw some very blatant ENTRAPMENT.
And they took that into account when reaching their verdict.

15. I'll let Roger Ailes (the good one) respond to that...
Poor, stupid dumbfuck. He (Captain Ed) simply can't understand that the unverified crap he reads on NewsMax and Instacracker and the drivellings of his commenters isn't a substitute for actual evidence. Of course, Special Ed wasn't present at the incident, doesn't know what evidence was presented and doesn't know what the grand jury knew or thought. But that doesn't stop the dumbfuck from suggesting the grand jury was too Negroid to understand the law and the facts: "Race baiting was the only defense McKinney could offer," says the dishonest seaman stain.

Of course, Ed's commenters take the hint and join in the hate parade:

I think James Joyner at OTB hit the nail on the head, reminding us that, "his is the same jury pool that acquitted Marion Berry on two sets of felony charges and then reelected him twice."

----------------------

And they wonder why we don't treat them with respect.

I doubt "they" wonder that at all.

p.s. to doubleplus dumbfuck James Joyner: Marion Berry is a U.S. Representative from Arkansas, not the former Mayor of D.C. And I won't even bother to point out all the other inaccuracies in the single sentence, "This is the same jury pool that acquitted Marion Berry on two sets of felony charges and then reelected him twice."

Any chance another station will pick up Air America in the Atlanta area?

11. Not if the police are being professional, you won't.
At least nothing more than an infrequent, off-the-record comment.

17. I heard the news report on AAR yesterday
What I heard was that the Cap Police head guy was going to read the ruling very carefully so that they do their job as it's supposed to be done. That's my recollection. It was a very measured response. They were disappointed.

Btw, if you love the radio and listen via the net I hope you know about Nate Clay on Saturday nights. He's on WLS in Chicago. He's on pretty late for your time zone. But if you're a night owl, here's the link. The Listen Live link is in the list on the left. http://www.wlsam.com/showdj.asp?DJID=1623 I keep hoping they'll have pod casts to download the next day.
