First off--- I hope not. I hope they find these two soldiers and return them to safety.

With that said--- I've recently started to think that with the fragile state of mind of the American people about this fucking war--- if a Somalia type incident where dead American soldiers are dragged down the street..... that most likely will be the beginning of the end to this stupid invasion.

Again--I'm praying that they find these soldiers---and I'm not hoping for a Somalia redux.... I'm just saying that one incident like this could be all she wrote.

1. Or there could be the opposite reaction:
a hardening of resolve to "get the bastards". More violence, more war, more ugly rhetoric.

Violence never solves anything, no matter the victim or the perpetrator.

2. Doubt it.

3. Our dead soldiers have been dragged through the streets of Iraq.
MSM doesn't report that. Unlike Somalia, Iraqis have much more access to video cameras. For instance, reference the Juba sniper video. It's not particularly gruesome, just shows soldiers getting shot and falling down (usually dead). The video camera is from the sniper's spotter and in some cases from the scope of the sniper's rifle, itself. Talk about an effective propaganda tool.

Back to the MSM. They only report what they want to report...not what actually happens.

5. The one from the 16th was with the two who are missing.
Edited on Sat Jun-17-06 02:40 PM by jaxx
The other two may be from earlier. Names not yet released may have something to do with dubya's big week of "hey look at me". They have delayed release of names before for some bush junk.

If the two missing are killed, I think the count would be up to 2503, or they withheld the missing info too. And I could be wrong on this.

Way too many have died for the lies.

edit>> There is still one soldier missing from 2004. Matt Maupin.

6. I was thinking
that they may be sitting on this info also! Or they just found them?
Maybe ICasualties hasn't caught up yet?
I'm well aware of the missing soldier also, thanks.
They say there is possible footage of him with 5 "insurgents" that was posted on the web in 2004.
But they can't tell from the video if it's him or not.

"Way too many have died for the lies."

You can say that again!!! :grr:

9. The beginning of the end is long passed.
I don't think it's possible to pinpoint an event or date, but it's pretty clear that the American people are through with this war, even if the admin and pukes in Congress haven't gotten the message yet. I believe the repukes made a huge error in pushing the faux resolution and debate. If things in Iraq are much the same come September- and it's very likely that the occupation will continue along its woeful trajectory- we should hammer them with their refusal to change course. Changing course can be a useful euphemism for getting the hell out.
