McCain "Iran will have Nuclear Capabilities in 6 Months"
Edited on Sun Jan-15-06 10:56 AM by mikelewis
On face the Nation, Senator McCain reported that Iran will have nuclear capabilities as early as 6 months. He did not create a visual of a mushroom cloud over an American City but I'm sure that's gonna be said soon too. He also said that we would probably have to disarm them unilaterally.

Same old story, same old song and dance.

On edit - he also said we could freeze the sale of oil from Iran until they give up thier WMD. He said that there's really no other choice if they refuse to give up their weapons of mass Destruction.

23. Chatty Johnny, who is pulling your string?
The groundwork is being laid, and the usual suspects are stepping up to act out their cheesy roles in this tacky neocon drama. On cue.

Pathetic, and our corporate media promotes it like it's apple pie.

I suppose this is what happens when a decent conservative tries to keep face with the neocon. He is forced to become one of them...

29. Exactly.
Really strange, since the nazis seem to be scared of mid-term elections, & they needn't be, since they own Diebold, ES&S, Sequoia, etc.

That anyone would pay any attention to what this psychopathic, lying administration says about the alleged danger another country poses is simply amazing.

10. In July 2005, the National Security Council issued a report - 10 YEARS.
Edited on Sun Jan-15-06 11:01 AM by higher class
It is referenced in many articles on the internet. It estimated that it would be 10 years before Iran had weapon capability. That makes it 9 1/2 years. Some say it would have been 12 years if Halliburton had not sold them essential ingredients.

Don't accept what McCain says. He can't be trusted for anything. He is a giant weasel. Details and distinctions are required. DEMAND details and don't trust the U.S. press. just as you cannot trust a Republican politician.

DEMAND that McCain explain himself. Obviously, he is now John RICE or John PERLE.

Know what the crisis is all about - the U.S. and Israel and the UK want to bomb Iran. Demand to know if the crisis is really Iran.

This is a stand-off. Israel has the highest arsenal. Iran is their long time foe. This is a stand-off. The U.S. Republican agenda is evil.

36. "That makes it 9 1/2 years."
Nope, that makes it still 10 years (minimum) estimated, since even research programs have been frozen (and sealed) UNTIL NOW.

11. A little lesson for McCain
A shepherd-boy, who watched a flock of sheep near a village, brought out the villagers three or four times by crying out, "Wolf! Wolf!" and when his neighbors came to help him, laughed at them for their pains. The Wolf, however, did truly come at last. The Shepherd-boy, now really alarmed, shouted in an agony of terror: "Pray, do come and help me; the Wolf is killing the sheep"; but no one paid any heed to his cries, nor rendered any assistance. The Wolf, having no cause of fear, at his leisure lacerated or destroyed the whole flock.

12. i guess we'll have to start bombing soon, eh?
since we can not cut off their supply of oil that the west desperately needs.

and when they cut it off in response i guess we will have to occupy the country to get it going again.

sounds like an imperial plan to me.

14. What exactly is a "nuclear capability"?
If that isn't the vaguest doublespeak I've heard lately...Doesn't for one second mean bombs. (But that's what you're hoping for, right, McCain?)

And sources I'd trust more than McCain are saying five or ten years before Iran could actually produce a nuclear bomb.

Fear, fear, fear!

Edited on Sun Jan-15-06 11:28 AM by Monkey see Monkey Do
Or the Padilla application form? Or the Zawahiri 'Guess Who's Coming To Dinner' bombing?

At least the Saddam did 9-11 bollocks had a small vestige of intelligence behind it (the well debunked Atta-Iraqi spook meeting).

I'm now waiting for Cheney to go on FOX and announce the new intelligence about Zarqawi:

"Now it's time for me to tell you about Zarqawi, archrival and nemesis of Bush, with powers comparable to Bush. What powers you ask? I dunno, how 'bout the power of flight? That do anything for ya? That's levitation Holmes.

How 'bout the power to kill a yak, from 200 yards away ... with mind bullets! That's telekinesis, Bill.

How 'bout the power, to move you?"

or something like that.

33. I'm sure the College Republicans would be happy to serve.
I suspect that this is at the root of the Alito vote. They know America has to go in a fascist direction in order to bring on their evil plan of continual war in the Middle East. What better way to do it but to continue to steal elections and to ensure that the Supreme Court continues to support absolute power for the executive office. McCain must think he's going to benefit from all of this.

40. Yesterday it was 5 to 10 years. Today, just in time for the Sunday
shows, it's 6 months.

And China will never stop buying their oil from Iran. China is an oil glutton and they won't bow to the whims of the rest of the world. Plus they have veto power in the UN, so that cripples any plans that the UN might have in terms of sanctions.
