I just realized something. "Colorado" is colorful in Spanish.
We have a state in the contiguous United States with a Spanish name! Should we change it to suit the xenophobic tastes of Lou Dobbs?

"Yes, Lou. I live in Denver, Colorful. It's quite lovely at this time of year."

Just an epiphany.

Writer, the Sombrero Raider.

3. Greetings from Hotoven
Our largest city is Queens (Ciudad de Nuestra Senora La Reina de Los Angeles).

Our capital is Sacrament, not far from St. Francis and St. Joseph.

Don't forget to visit Lard (Manteca) if you're ever in the Central Valley of Hotoven.

4. Literally it does,
but it usually is used in the sense of "red," "ruby", or "ruddy." Ponerse colorado means to blush, as in "Me pongo colorado" means "I'm blushing."

7. Oooh, does that mean states are red
because they are embarrassed of their population's voting patterns?

especially when you also mention Montana is Spanish.

12. Half of the cities and towns in the western U.S., would have to
be renamed. Also, tacos, tamales, enchiladas and many more. My God! what do these xenophobes want?

What would we call Taco Bell??

14. Though we're quickly losing our color....
with this heatwave. Days of upper '90's...and two in a row of over 100.

As I'm writing this, I'm sweatin' like a stuck pig. My beautiful lawn is quickly browning. I applied some more Revive yesterday. Lets see if that does the trick.

For the past couple months, I've had the best looking lawn on the block. I still do...but now it's a lovely shade of brown.

DEAR LORD!!!! SEND RAIN!!!!

19. Look at a map of the southwest. All the place-names are Spanish.
America has always been a multi-lingual country.
