38% approval rate and they are celebrating....

????

That is PATHETIC.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2006-06-13-poll-results_x.htm

And, are Americans really THAT stupid to think all of the sudden we will win the Iraq war (percentage believing that jumped from 38 to 49% since the last poll)? What does winning Iraq even mean?

It is a sad day when the White House touts a approval rating in the 30s as a victory.

2. I do too. But, I don't think we are thinking the same thing.

They will STEAL elections. Again.

Worked like a charm the first two times. Why on earth stop now?

3. Gallup weights their numbers heavily in favor of the GOP
giving them 40%, rather than the 28% who actually are GOP in the population. In contrast, they give the Dems 30%, and the Dems are slightly in excess of 40%.

Harris and AP/Ipsos/Reid have been the most reliable polls and they're the only ones I bother with.

4. Well, if he did hit 38% - that is probably their high.
How many times can W go back to Iraq - how many times can they kill Zarquawi (sp).

You know??

It is not just pathetic it is desperate.

God watch out for our kids this summer. This is going to be a bad summer.

5. OK 38 percent
Edited on Wed Jun-14-06 05:24 PM by Turbineguy
Let's do some Repo Math:

That leaves 62 percent for the Democratic and third party candidates.

Disenfranchise 5 percent right off (the non-white undesirables). That leaves 57 percent.

Set the voting machine software up to shift 15% of the votes to the Repub candidate. That leaves 48 percent.

100 percent - 48 percent is 52 percent.

That's a mandate!

10. I think
during the early part of his first term, Clinton was way down in the 30s which helped to usher in the 1994 "Republican Revolution". These low numbers also coincided with Hillary's failed Health Plan and the Don't Ask Don't Tell policy decision.

12. 38% was Clinton's low
But it was early in his administration.

At this time in his administration, Clinton's approval rating was in the 60s.

being impeached, his approval ratings were in the 60's also? All that without being a "War" pResident! Imagine that!

15. During the impeachment hearings, Clinton's approval rating was 72%
When Clinton left office his approval rating was 63%, the highest approval rating of any exiting president in U.S. history. Higher than even Reagan's exit approval rating.

11. Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy ride
until November.
And, politically, it's a very long time until mid-terms.
We just all have to work hard for our candidates and believe in America.

16. All it will take is the inevitable Bush fuck up story and watch him drop..
Edited on Wed Jun-14-06 11:18 PM by LaPera
back to 29% - People are finally catching on to BushCo's bullshit!

They believe they have all the loose ends and whistle-blowers at a stand still and Bush's poll numbers will keep rising. For now, maybe.

Not a chance in the long run...Many more lies and fuck-ups will be exposed.

Got to keep the pressure on!
