Just a teensy example of what's gone wrong....CNN/Begala/Watts -
Blitzkrieg talking to Begala and the utterly worthless and quite possibly rock stupid JC Watts about the apparently divided Dems message re Iraq. Begala says something moderately sensible about how most Dems are closer to Kerry in the need to get out, but that most of the public is closer to Hillary in not quite getting to the timetable state. (yes, I know...but wait for the point)...so Begala says that there is nothing wrong with a difference of opinion - it is healthy to have a debate, and that we would not be in the war if even a few pugs would have had the balls to stand up and not go lock step with the misleader.

Then - punchline - Watts says that if that would have happened, Saddam would still be in power killing people, and that Zarqawi would still be in Iraq killing people, etc etc....and Begala just sat there and let it go! The whole issue played out right there - the right lies out their ass and the left just smiles and doesn't challenge - and the media closes down the discussion and gives the appearance that the lies are the truth.

And this is played out hundreds of times each day all over the TV and in the news and on the radio. Mass brainwashing!

2. It even happens on lefty radio
Today on the Ed Schultz show he had some caller on bitching about the money we're spending to rebuild Iraq. He said that's the same as negotiating with terrorists. He said why are we spending our money to rebuild the terrorists country!!!
Iraq wasn't a "terrorist" country until we invaded!!!

Ed didn't even call him on it!! I was furious! :grr:

3. Hate and lies left unanswered
That's the charge I level against ALL mass media figures, whether they're Democrats or Repuglicans, pundits or newscasters. They all let thugs from the far right make outrageous statements without answering them, with only the rarest of exceptions.

It's why I turned the whole dishonest pack of them off over a year and a half ago. Their advertisers can go find bodies somewhere else.

Clark supporter...

Last night Clark was on the the odious Hannity shit show with Ollie North (both remote)...
After getting through one question, Hannity went into "attack the Democrat" mode...and started on how the Democrats undermined the troops and Murtha said the troops were "murderers."

To make a long story short--Clark dropped any pretense of trying to have a decent discussion and swung back. He countered Hannity by saying it's about FACTS --basically, he said "You know Democrats support the troops 100%" and "You're spinning me, you're spinning me." He went on to say he wanted to see what the investigation (Haditha) said and that Murtha as an elected representative had a right to bring up anything he wanted that would push the investigation further.

This doesn't do justice to how fiercely Hannity went after him and the Democrats and how doggedly Clark resisted the bullshit. But he called out Hannity on 1) Facts 2) False accusations and 3) Spin. He not only deflected Hannity's false statements but ALSO WENT AFTER HANNITY'S TECHNIQUES.

Pointing out the manipulation in this instance was just as important as trying to straighten out the barrage of talking points that came his way.

5. That's why Jon Stewart got Crossfire canceled
It was symbolic of all the big problems with the MSM, and especially what you just described.

Maybe he should ramp up his efforts again.
