Does anyone on the left say such hateful things as Coulter?

I got in a discussion with my RW mother about this today. I brought up several examples ranging from Coulter to Savage to Limpballs. She said the left does it, too. When I asked who, she couldn't give an answer, but swears up and down some does. Who would that be?

while lacking in political discretion and given to making sweeping accusations, Ward does not quite stoop to the level of Coulter (or Malkin or Hannity or Rush...)

His comment about "little Eichmans" was taken out of context, and in context was referring to how bureaucrats far removed from the atrocities committed by those in power still enable these atrocities (without realizing their guilt). Not a very kind thing to say, but a world less viscious than what oulter said abouth the 911 widows.

Same for the Malcom X comment about "chickens coming to roost"

Even the hard left sectarians I've had the unpleasant experience of knowing don't come close.

5. I hate that

I've had people (even fellow lefties) say that Al Franken and Randi are the left wing analogies to Hannity, Coulter, O'Reilly, etc. I know what they mean, but I always point out that (a) I've never heard the Air America folks advocate murder or rudely telling someone to "shut up" and (b) I try to be as aware as possible about use of facts, and as far as I can tell, Randi and Al are at least attempting to be honest. This doesn't mean they make no mistakes, but that they are not blatant liars.

Make me cringe. But I've always thought that was more than balanced out by the vile spew that passes for discussion at Free Republic, et al ad infinitum.

But national scene, supposedly "serious" commentators on the left? Nope, don't go down that road, as far as I know.

11. what pissed me off

I was watching Scarborough country yesterday, and he was talking to some Dem rep, from the North East, talkiing about Coulter's hate marks, and Joe, was saying that Michael Moore, said something akin to this "We need to bathe in the blood of our dead soldiers, in order to get remdemption" something like that...and Joe was saying, that the left has nut jobs just like Ann, and he compared Ann to Michael M...and the Dem rep, just stood there, and basically agreed, that both sides have nut cases....

I was basically shouting at the screen "prove that MM said that shit!!" but the Dem guy, didn't ask for that....it was, crazy, that people can even begin to compare Ann to MM...I haven't heard any hate leftist talk shows, that I'm aware of...but again, anything that goes against the RW movement is considered radical nutjob liberalism...

The other day my husband came home from work while I was listening to one of my "loony left" shows. He puts up with me switching channels from around 4pm to 6:59pm (with the exception that he won't allow anything but Fox entertainment shows like the Simpsons during dinner). Anyway...I digress...

He overheard people talking about Coulter's latest desperate display for publicity, and asked me, "So when they call Bush a liar that's not hateful?" I just walked out of the room...there's no point in getting into a shouting match that will have effects for days after.

What it boils down to is simple:

Coulter, aside from being a man, is just vicious and cruel. The top personalities on the left are sometimes arrogant and dismissive (though always entertaing - and right for that matter), but they don't spout outright cruelty like this bastard. The only other person that I can think of - on the left OR the right - that is as contemptible as Mr. Coulter is the good reverend Robertson.
