The Republican Strategy O' Lies ---
Edited on Wed Jun-14-06 09:45 AM by sparosnare
"If you tell a lie often enough and loud enough, it will eventually be accepted as truth."

Everything they do is based on this one statement and with the complicity of the media, they have the forum to push what they say and pound it into the heads of the American people. They hedge their bets that no matter how outrageous their lies are, people will eventually believe.

So the truth means nothing to them and telling lies, making shit up - it's like a game. Let's see if we can make this one stick! Let's see how many people will buy into it. That's exactly what we're seeing right now with Bush's Iraq Tour and his press conference in the Rose Garden. He was asked by what percentage the violence must decrease in order to be successful. Without hesistation, the idiot said the violence isn't connected to success, they're focusing on politics and the new government - that's what will determine success. Can't let a handful of killers determine the outcome.

So in the coming weeks and months, Republicans will gleefully parrot this new lie over and over and over, building up to a crescendo right before the election. We have won, Iraq is a success - regardless of the violence and killing. HOWEVER - we must stay there to weed out the "handful of killers" (led by Zarqawi's successor) even though we've won. We'll even bring home a few troops - that oughta shut up the Democrats.

I just hope at this late date, their strategy of lies and doublespeak has worn thin and the American people wise up to it.

I'd like to believe they're actually doing something for a change but I don't. It's all politics, always has been.

1. Because their reason for existence is a lie,
nothing they say can be completely true.

At this point, I don't think its a matter of whether or not individual statements they make are true or false. Their basic premise, that they are public servants trying to serve the public good, is a lie, and because all subsequent statements are based on support of this lie they must be viewed in this light.

2. The people of this country don't
need short sound bits or slanted media... They need better jobs, lower gas prices, health care, savings and retirement. I think they will vote this election with their hearts. They have had it and the polls reflect this.. We need to keep putting the blame where it belongs.. The repubs have the majority votes, and it is their governing that we should be blaming...

3. I hope you're right.
The Republicans and pundits keep saying we don't have a plan, but we do. In fact, it was released a couple of days ago and got ZERO press coverage because of all the horseshit. So what do people think? Democrats don't have a plan. Grrr.

I am worried the election won't be fair anyway, even if people do vote with their hearts.
