Indictment Wake Thread: How Do You Remember Our Dearly Departed Friend?.
Edited on Tue Jun-13-06 10:42 PM by DistressedAmerican
It is good to see you all here. The indictment would have liked that.

People seem like they need to share.

I'm here to listen people.

It was a great criminal indictment. A glorious rectification of at least one of the wrongs done to this nation by the criminals in the Whitehouse. It was set to shake the halls of power. It was set to launch a string of subpoenas and discoveries that would have led to the unraveling of the entire lie behing the tragic invasion of Iraq. But, without warning it was snatched away from us.

We will have to await the results of the autopsy before we know exactly what happened.

But, we know this, it died far to young and suddenly. It will be deeply and sadly missed.

Have a drink my friend.

How do you remember our beloved Rove indictment?

What were your hopes and dreams for it as it matured and grew?

I'll be in the back sobbing quitely if anyone needs me....

ON EDIT -

I scrounged us up some appropriate bagpipe music:

3. I think maybe the indictment died in a good cause.
Assuming it's really dead. I haven't seen the body yet. But if it's dead, maybe it fell in order to bring Scooter & Sneer to justice. Maybe it died so that Rove will testify, and maybe it died so that an unindicted Rove will be more credible to the jury or juries before whom he will be testifying.

And maybe, if Rove doesn't roll over like he said he would, the indictment will be brought out of hiding.

And there at Bolton Abbey

We found his tomb

Just wanted to show my lovely holiday snaps! DUer tenshi816 and I had a BLAST togrther in North England.

O indictment boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen and down the mountainside
The summer's gone and all the roses falling
'Tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide.
But come ye back when summer's in the meadow
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow
'Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow
O Indictment boy, O Indictment boy, I love you so.

But if ye come and all the flowers are dying
If I am dead, as dead I well may be,
You'll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an Ave there for me.

And I shall hear, though soft, your tread above me
And all my grave shall warmer, sweeter be
For you will bend and tell me that you love me
And I will sleep in peace until you come to me.

Edited on Wed Jun-14-06 08:20 AM by originalpckelly
"Goodbye Indictment Rove
Though I never knew you at all
You had the grace to hold yourself
While those around you crawled
They crawled out of the woodwork
And they whispered into your brain
They put you out on the internet
And they made you change your story

And it seems to me you lived your life
Like an indictment in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
When the rain set in
And I would have liked to have known you
But I was just a kid
Our hope burned out long before
Your legend ever did

Hopelessness was tough
The toughest role we ever played
D Underground created a superstar
And pain was the price we paid
Even when you died
Oh the press still hounded you
All the papers had to say
Was that Leopold was found insane

Goodbye Indictment Rove
From the young man in the 22nd row
Who sees you as something as more than hope
More than just our Indictment Rove"

Let's all sing together. WE MISS YOU!

60. Alas, poor Indictment, I knew you well....
After all the discussions, I know everything about indictments.

I don't think this is the last we will see of indictments, and conspiracies, but here's to this one...

65. Photographs and memories
Photographs and memories
Christmas cards you sent to me
All that I have are these

To remember you

Memories that come at night
Take me to another time
Back to a happier day
When I called you mine

CHORUS:

But we sure had a good time
When we started way back when
Morning walks and bedroom talks

Oh how I loved you then

Photographs and memories

Have a beer.

The snacks are on the table.

There are a few hung over late nighters laying around the place. Just shove one to the side and have a seat.

Still frozen, as Viva_La_Revolution is so bombed she forgot to heat them up.

The thumping and the muffled cries of "let me out" are not amusing. We are trying to grieve here, people.

78. Thanks for that great "Gallows Humor" and the bagpipes to go with it...
Sitting here with the remnants of Alberto (Tropical Storm) and the gloom and pouring rain...nursing the sorrows of another smack down by the Bushies it was fitting to listen to the "pipes" and read this thread of Irish Wake....

83. This morning I had a dream that I wanted to tell The indictment,
I leaped from my bed and ran to the phone--then reality struck me like a Chromium-steel bar from an empty prison cell.

I clutched my bosom and collapsed to the floor, the weight of grief and loss sparking my brain's every synapse with the sorrowful light of realization, and sweet memory torn asunder.

For the love of God! Can no one recommend to me a good and reasonably-priced breakfast wine?!!

You're much better company than the ones having the knock-down drag-out fight next door. We may all be hung-over today, but I don't see any black eyes. Give me maudlin singing any time.

Irish Alzheimer's: Where you forget everything but the grudges.

Our raucous Irish Wake over here has been much more productive. The venting and the laughter -- mostly the laughter -- strengthen us for the struggle ahead. I laughed so much I bookmarked this thread.
