OOOohhh Now THIS is an interesting question - how would you answer?
Had a get together at work late this afternoon (party of about 200) and me and some fellows were discussing Bill Clinton, how he couldn't run again, etc and so on.

So I asked:
Suppose Clinton found a loophole in the law - you can run again if you switch parties.

If he became an R, would you vote for him? Over who?

Follows up to that one, naturally:

Who would run against him and who would win who would lose against him?

How about a Clinton v. Clinton ticket...the list goes on.

And since Clinton could run again - so could *, as a D....

At any rate, it was getting lively when I had to book, so thought I would follow up here (and for the record, general consensus was they would vote for Bill since he proven he was a dem, versus someone else who switched parties and never served as president)

2. I don't think Big Dog would run again, even if he had the opportunity
I don't think his heart (no pun intended) would be in it as before.

4. Other than the fact that there is no such loophole.
And if there were such a loophole, I doubt he'd become a Republican, but rather run as an independent.

7. Now that is interesting as well
Draw votes away from dems, rethugs wouldn't vote for him.

Could get interesting...

8. I would be willing to bet that there are millions of Republicans,
right now, who would vote to reelect Bill in a heartbeat. Regardless of what the fundies thought of him, real Republicans have to admit he was a damn good president (especially after seeing what a total fuck-in-clusters W is)...

15. Forget about Clinton being able to run for President as a rethug....
Can you imagine the rethug reaction if THEIR "Prince and Princess of Darkness" actually joined their party? Would there be a break in the time/space continuum? Would they welcome them with open arms? Would there heads explode? I kind of hope it happens, just to see the reaction.

17. Nope, no loophole. Funny, the Constitution doesn't really mention parties.
