Anyone else see Novakula on CNN this afternoon?
Just wondering what everyone thought of Novak's last appearance on CNN.

CNN did a "This is Your Life" video montage, in honor of Novak and to commemorate his last
day appearing on CNN as a paid employee. They sure like to position him as a fierce, clever and
intelligent guy. Interesting, because I saw him up-close-and-personal during a debate--and he came off as a giant wet blanket with a side of stupidity. The man couldn't put two words together. Jeff Cohen (from FAIR) and he iced Novak.

I thought the interview was interesting. He said some kind things about Bush's tax policies, but then he launched into an anti-Iraq war speech. Novak said he knew all along that Iraq had no WMD and that we should not have invaded. Novak made Bush look like an imp and he twisted the knife into
the Iraq issue--solidifying the notion that Bush rushed to war and crafted his intelligence and reasons for war around his longstanding desire to invade.

Also--Novak commented on Plame and he said that her "covert status" was widely known in Washington circles. Novak also commented on his words at a speech, during which he said that pResident Bush knew he his Plame source was, and to "ask the pResident, who my source was." Novak said those comments were stupid and that he shouldn't have said them. However, he would not deny that they were true. He did not deny that the pResident does know his source.

My guess is that Junior was his source. If Novak's source was Cheney, he would have said, "The Vice President knows my source, why don't you ask him." Why bring the pResident into this, unless he was the source? There's really no point.

Also, Novak has had a thorn in his side regarding Junior for a while. During the Aspen Conference, Novak wrote a column which told Junior that his conservative friends really weren't his friends anymore. The column was a warning to Junior that the loss of support he has taken will hurt him. I imagine that Novak is angry at Bush for some reason. My guess is that the administration tried to roll over on Novak by lying and saying that Novak told THEM about Plame. Clearly, that was untrue and I don't think Novak took his betrayal well.

Novak said that, upon the advice of his attorneys, he could not comment on his Plame source or the case. He said he is anxious to tell what he knows and wants the investigation to end so he can sing.

I can't wait to hear what he has to say.

1. I've long said it was Bush. Media refuses to acknowledge that for many
years Bush's job was as a political strategist and dirty tricks operative who ran with Atwater and Rove since the 70s.

5. I agree with you on that.
Plus whoever did this was both vindictive and none too bright. Rove is vindictave as hell but also smart. Cheney is also smart enough to know that screwing with the CIA could bite him in the ass.

Until it's proven otherwise, I'll always believe it was Bush.

2. he didn't deny the "Bush surely knows" remark he made last week
just said it was stupid.

What a deplorable snake of arrogance that gutter-being is. And so proud of his crimes, like he was blessed by some god or other for doing evil. Too bad he can't look in the mirror and see himself as we see him--he might be saved! (maybe not)

3. I want him to sing in jail
He identified a covert operative, who knows how many people have been killed as a result? Who knows how badly our intelligence system was compromised? He KNEW that to ID a covert operative was wrong and illegal and yet his huge EGO convinced him it was a great story. "Look what I know mommy! Aren't I special?"

He should rot in jail.

4. I saw it and thought it all a bit weird. Kind of a melancholy,...
soft focus sort of thing.

I wonder if he has suffered a slight stroke or is just honing his Fox character.

At least I will never have to see his smarmy, sneering mug again. I refuse to visit his new employer.
