Utah Election Clerk 'in Shock' About E-Vote Security Breach in Busby/Bilbr
Utah Election Clerk 'in Shock' About E-Vote Security Breach in Busby/Bilbray Election!

Emery County's Bruce Funk is Stunned by San Diego County Procedures Allowing Diebold Voting Machines to be Sent Home with Poll Workers Prior to last Tuesday's Special Run-off Election for the U.S. House
23-Year County Clerk Who Allowed a Security Analysis Uncovering the Most Alarming Diebold Vulnerability to Date Sends a Letter to The BRAD BLOG…
Bruce Funk, the 23-year Emery County, Utah county clerk who allowed computer security experts Harris Hursti and Doug Thomspon to examine the Diebold AccuVote TSx voting systems forced on him by the state last March — which led to the discovery of a massive security vulnerability in all Diebold touch-screen systems, as originally broken by The BRAD BLOG, and subsequently followed up by New York Times, NEWSWEEK, NPR and many other MSM outlets — writes in with his concerns about the results of last week's special election in San Diego between Francine Busby and Brian Bilbray to replace Randy "Duke" Cunningham in CA's 50th U.S. House congressional district.

(All of our reports on that race, so far, in which San Diego county blatantly defied the CA Sec. of State's own security mitigation requirements, not to mention common sense, by sending the voting machines home with poll workers days and weeks prior to the election can be read here .)

Funk writes: "Brad, After reading your articles on the Busby/Bilbray Election, I am in shock!"...

4. I feel safe voting now
The voting fraud continues. Having the machine at your house for days and weeks, what the hell is that?

Joe public has no way of even verifying if anything accurate ever happened the way things stand. The people standing behind the accuracy of these machines must be dishonest in some very fundamental way.

31. Yea, Fundamental in a freaking brain washed way
Like good gawd man, that would be like after your deposit at the bank they give you an extra key and a code to the vault with access to everybody else's accounts. Then they explain that they do this because they want make doing business with them easy.

Guards and security devices are there mostly to help keep honest people honest yet the only thing that seems that wasn't done here was sending out formal invitations to people who would like to tamper with the machines and the results

5. Votergate: The Movie - Watch interview w/ woman who took 5+ machines
home with her because she was told too. She tested the "seal" on the machines and found that it was re-usable sticky type - take off, put it back on, take it off, put it back on.

Don't worry, though, the seal looked *really* official...

32. Yes, we shouldn't be *shocked* it happened here in San Diego...
Edited on Tue Jun-13-06 12:18 PM by calipendence
with an all Republican Board of Supervisors for the last decade that arguably fraudulently faked Democratic endorsements for Republican Ron Roberts over Democratic candidate Richard Barrera in this primary too. They also have an all Republican controlled Voter's Registrar too.

Black Box Voting documented this problem happening earlier here in San Diego.

And in the April election, I received the following note from someone I know here that worked as a pollworker then too. This is "situation normal" here.

Hello:

I'll be a poll worker in the 50th District Congressional Elections
and have already received a manual and such. What struck me as particularly
tone-deaf of the registrar's office is that I'm going to be taking the
voting equipment and ballots home with me on Friday 4/7 for the election of
Tuesday, 4/11. All of this will be sitting in either my home office or my
garage until I deliver them my precinct and set them up. Does this sound
familiar to you? Remember Black Box Voting's movie where San Diego Country
was ridiculed for doing this? We do have to have the polls open by 0700 and
I guess the logistics of delivering the equipment direct to the polling
place seem a little overwhelming to the Registrar but, I'd be willing to put
it down to just being cheap and not truly valuing voting.

Thanks

You know, perhaps if this happens again in November when there are *all* TSX machines, perhaps that is when we get our hackers down here to hack the machines and put all Dems in office here and force the issue out into the open!

Have someone afterward come out and admit that they did it as a form of civil disobediance and force the whole election fairness thing on the table. Perhaps if the machines are being scammed nation-wide, then we can force a second election after the machines are pushed aside then and replaced with paper ballots!

If they fine him or otherwise penalize him for the cost of a new election, then he and/or others should turn around and sue the likes of Diebold and those in these offices that are lax on security.

Good stuff. When DRE's are held to the same standards as slot machines, I might just trust them again...

Give us a majority in the House so we can begin Operation Shock and Audit! (And somebody send poor Liddy Dole a case of smelling salts.)

11. Is Busby doing anything about it? Is this going to be fought?
I read that she "lost" (quotes due to the fact that I will never trust another election again) but hadn't read about this. Will they have another election? Thanks.

This is just too outrageous to let it slip away. How much more do we need? How much more can we take? How much longer can our Country survive under Moranican Rule? It's time for the people to rise up and toss these bums out. :banghead:

29. Shortly before the 2004 election
a friend who is political but not as obsessed as I am asked do you think Kerry will win and my answer was I think he should win but I have a sick feeling about the machines - well friends I have that same sick feeling again and I tell you the Dems will not take back the House or Senate and it will be because of these machines and the Dems failure to raise hell about this over the past two years (or better yet the past six years) - they were too afraid to be called Michael Moore conspiracy nut cases - just like they have been too afraid to stand up on SO MANY issues over the past six years.
